Applications invited for the Position of Fields Inspector, Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce, Te Awamutu.

APPLICATIONS will be received by the undersigned up till noon on the 24th July, 1915, for the position of Fields Inspector, Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce, Te Awamutu.

Application (to be made on form P.S.C. 17A, obtainable at principal post-offices) must be addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and must embrace a statement of education and experience, particulars of age, &c.

Applicants must possess—
(a.) A sound knowledge of field-cropping operations in New Zealand;
(b.) A good knowledge of the control of rabbits and noxious weeds in New Zealand;
(c.) Practical experience of rabbit-suppression;
(d.) Some experience of office-work and correspondence; and
(e.) Ability to ride across country. -
The age of applicants should not be less than twenty-five, nor more than thirty years.
The appointment will be subject to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1912.
The position will be graded in the General Division. Salary, £180; maximum, £220.

APPLICATIONS will be received by the undersigned up till noon on the 23rd July, 1915, for the position of Manager, Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce, Tauranga Experimental Farm, Tauranga.

Applications (to be made on form P.S.C. 17A, obtainable at principal post-offices) must be addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and must embrace a statement of education and experience, particulars of age, &c.

Applicants should have—
(a.) Thorough practical experience of orchard and garden work under New Zealand conditions;
(b.) Ability to impart information to visiting orchardists and gardeners, to prepare reports and conduct the farm correspondence and books;
(c.) General knowledge of New Zealand farming as regards field-crops and live-stock. -
Age must be not less than twenty-five nor more than forty years.

Until the development of the farm and district necessitate the Manager giving his full time to managerial duties, the man appointed will be required to devote as much time as possible to practical work on the farm.

The person appointed would be supplied with a house, for which rental at the rate of £30 per annum would be charged. He would also have to pay a fair price for fuel, light, milk, vegetables, &c.
The appointment will be subject to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1912.
The position will be graded in the General Division. Salary, £220; maximum, £250.

Public Service Stores Tender Board.—Supply and Delivery of Stores.
Wellington, 2nd July, 1915.
TENDERS will be received at the office of the Chairman (Government Printing Office) not later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the 21st July, 1915, for the supply and delivery at the Post and Telegraph Stores, Wellington, of 4,000 bolts, double J; 200 leather satchels (messengers’); and 144 leather satchels (letter-carriers’).
Particulars and conditions of tendering may be obtained at the office of the Controller of Stores, Post and Telegraph Department, Wellington, the District Storekeeper, Post and Telegraph Department, Christchurch, or the Telegraph Engineers at Auckland and Dunedin.

Air-space, paper-insulated, lead-covered, armoured and served telephone cable: 14 pairs, 1 mile; 26 pairs, 15 miles; 52 pairs, 11 miles; 78 pairs, 1 mile; 104 pairs, 7 miles.
100 miles wire, insulated and braided, twin-twisted, 1/20.

Public Service Stores Tender Board.—Supply and Delivery of Lucerne-seed.
Wellington, 6th July, 1915.
WRITTEN tenders will be received at the office of the Chairman (Government Printing Office) not later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the 14th July, 1915, for the supply and delivery at Wellington of 1 ton of lucerne-seed. A sample of the seed offered must be submitted with the tender.
The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the under-mentioned land having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Otago Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—COOK COUNTY.—BUCKLEY TOWNSHIP.
BLOCK IV: Area, 19 acres 0 roods 23 perches; term of lease, five years; upset annual rental, £7 10s.
The land is of a very sandy nature, and, with the exception of about five acres, it is practically all covered with gorse. The section is bounded on each side by roads, and there is a very good fresh-water spring situated on the eastern boundary, being partly on the reserve and partly on the road.
