Altitude, 1,000 ft. to 2,900 ft. above sea-level. High broken country, very rough in places, covered with mixed forest comprising rimu, tawa, some totara and birch, tawhiri and tawhero on hilltops, with thick undergrowth of supple-jack, punga, konini, makomako, &c. Soil fair to poor pumice loam, on clay and rotten rock; well watered by streams and river. Distant thirty miles from Opotiki—twenty-five miles by formed dray-road and balance by 6 ft. formed track to within a few chains of section.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-second day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the town lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the twenty-fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Town of Rangataua.

Situated about a quarter of a mile by metalled road from Rangataua Station, on the Main Trunk Railway line. Flat land, with soil of light volcanic loam on grit formation.
