Revoking the Reservation over Portions of a Scenic Reserve in
the Westland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by Proclamation dated the fourth day of
February, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the sixth day of
the same month, certain land in the Westland Land District
was declared to be a reserve under the Scenery Preservation
Act, 1908:
And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto
(being parts of the land so set apart) are no longer suitable
for scenic purposes by reason of the destruction of the forest
thereon:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by
section eight of the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act,
1910, do hereby revoke the reservation for scenic purposes
over the lands described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 489 acres 0 roods 26 perches, more or less, being
part of Scenic Reserve 638, Block XIII, Hohonu Survey
District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point
on the western boundary of Section 619 where it intersects
the north side of the Settlement Road; thence by a line
extending north-westerly along the western boundaries of
Sections 619, 620, 621, 622, 623, 624, 625, and Crown
lands for a distance of 16000 links; thence westerly by
Crown lands for a distance of 5250 links to the eastern side
of the main Christchurch Road; thence southerly along the
eastern side of that road for a distance of 5650 links; thence
by Gravel Reserve No. 931 for 150, 150 and 150 links re-
spectively; thence again in a southerly direction along the
eastern side of the said main Christchurch Road for a distance
of 3000 links; thence in an easterly direction by Scenic
Reserve No. 638 for 450 links; and thence in a southerly
direction by said Scenic Reserve No. 638 for 8000 links to
the point of intersection of the eastern side of the Settlement
Road; thence by the northern boundary of said road for
1750 links, to the point of commencement.
Also all that area in the Westland Land District, containing
by admeasurement 12 acres 3 roods 14 perches, more or
less, being part of Scenic Reserve 638, Block XIII, Hohonu
Survey District, and bounded by a line commencing at
a peg marked 111 bearing 88° 33′ and distant 51·2 links
from traverse peg XVII on the main Christchurch Road,
and running in a north-westerly direction along said road
for a distance of 648·3 links; thence westerly by Scenic
Reserve 638 for a distance of 225 links and south-westerly for
2161·4 links, also easterly for 200 links and south-westerly
for 2806·6 links by said Scenic Reserve 638; thence in a
south-easterly direction by Crown lands for 120·6 links,
again by Scenic Reserve 638 in a north-easterly direction for
2874 links and easterly for 200 links; thence by said Re-
serve 638 and main Christchurch Road for 1574·3 links, to
the point of commencement.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is
delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 592/33, deposited in
the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wel-
lington, and thereon bordered red.

ment House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of
January, in the year of our Lord one thousand
nine hundred and fifteen.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section three hundred and eighty-nine of the Native
Land Act, 1909, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby lay out and take as a road the land described in
the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land taken:—
24 perches, portion of Rangitoto-Tuhua 60d No. 2b
Block. Coloured purple on plan.
5 acres 3 roods 28 perches, portion of Rangitoto-Tuhua
60d No. 2c Block. Coloured pink on plan.
All in Block VIII, Tangitu Survey District, Taranaki
Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated
on the plan marked L. and S. 1912/663b, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use,
convenience, and enjoyment of the Wellington-
Napier Railway to take further land at Hastings, in addi-
tion to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said
railway:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zea-
land, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on
me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-
eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other
power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in
the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above
mentioned.
