Consenting to Land being taken in the Borough of Gisborne
for the Purposes of the Gisborne Gaol (Warder's Cottage).
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this seventh day
of June, 1915.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, in
section fifteen thereof, inter alia, enacted that, except
for the purpose of a railway or defence purposes, or for the
purposes of any other work to be made under the authority
of a special Act, nothing in this Act contained shall autho-
rize the taking of any land occupied by any building,
yard, garden, or vineyard, or in bona fide occupation as an
ornamental park or pleasure-ground, without the previous
consent of the Governor in Council:
And whereas part of the land described in the Schedule
hereto is occupied by buildings, and the Minister of Public
Works has recommended the Governor to issue an Order in
Council under the said Act consenting to the taking of the
said land for the purposes of the Gisborne Gaol (warder's
cottage):
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-
in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise
enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor
of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby consent to the land described in
the Schedule hereto being taken for the purposes above
mentioned.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land being taken: 1 rood.
Portion of Allotment 104, Waiohiharore No. 1b.
Situated in the Borough of Gisborne (Poverty Bay R.D.).
In the Hawke's Bay Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 37684,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon edged pink.

Declaring Portions of Kokakonui, Wanganui Valley, and
Makokomiko Roads in the Kaitieke County to be County
Roads.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this seventh day
of June, 1915.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other
powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excel-
lency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that
the portions of roads described in the Schedule hereto shall,
on and after the date of this Order in Council, become
county roads.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of road in the Wellington Land District,
Kaitieke County, known as Kokakonui Road, commencing at
the steamer landing on the Wanganui River in the Public
Domain Reserve, Block III, Retaruke Survey District; and
proceeding thence in an easterly direction through the said
public domain, and part Section 5, Block IV, Retaruke Survey
District; along the southern boundary of Section 1, Block II,
Owatua Survey District; and along part of the southern
boundary of Section 4 and the southern boundary of Section 7
(school reserve), Block IV, Retaruke Survey District; to the
eastern boundary of the said Section 7, being a distance of
2 miles 44 chains, more or less: coloured green on plan
P.W.D. 37917.
Also all that portion of road in the said land district and
county, known as the Wanganui Valley Road, commencing
at the boundary between Sections 20 and 21, Block I, Hunua
Survey District, and running in a southerly direction generally
along the western and portion of the southern boundary of
the said Section 21, and through the public domain in
Block IV, Hunua Survey District, to its junction with the
Hikimutu Road in the said public domain, being a distance
of 4 miles 40 chains, more or less, coloured red on plan
P.W.D. 37916.
Also all that portion of road in the said land district and
county, known as Makokomiko Road, commencing at its
junction with the Wanganui Valley Road in the public domain,
Block IV, Hunua Survey District, and running in a north-
easterly direction generally through the said public domain
and along part of the northern boundary of Section 7 to a
point 20 chains east of the western boundary of Section 1,
all in Block IV, Hunua Survey District, being a distance of
60 chains, more or less, coloured yellow on plan P.W.D. 37916.
As the said portions of road are more particularly delineated
on the plans marked and coloured as above mentioned, and
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at
Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this seventh day
of June, 1915.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section seven of the Land Settlement
Finance Act, 1909 (hereinafter referred to as βthe
said Actβ), it is provided that as soon as possible after the
complete execution of any agreement under the said Act,
application in the prescribed form shall be made to the
Governor by or on behalf of the purchasers for an Order in
Council confirming the agreement in pursuance of the said
Act: And whereas by sections eight and nine of the said Act
it is further provided that upon receipt of such application
the Minister of Finance shall refer the same, together with
the agreement, to the Board of Land Purchase Commissioners
for its report thereon; and if the Board reports that the agree-
ment is fit and proper to be so confirmed the Governor may,
if he thinks fit by Order in Council, confirm the agreement
accordingly: And whereas under the provisions of the said
Act an agreement bearing date the twenty-seventh day of
March, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, has been
entered into between Charles Burge Edwards, vendor, of the
one part; and Harry Chandler Cooper, Charles Rawson
Stuart Martelli, Robert Campbell, Samuel Campbell, and
Michael O'Donoghue, jun., purchasers, of the other part, for
the purchase of the land therein described; and the said
purchasers therein agreed to become incorporated as the
Hoururangi Land-settlement Association: And whereas
application has been made in the prescribed form for the
issue of an Order in Council confirming the said agreement:
And whereas the said application, together with the said
agreement, was referred to the Board of Land Purchase
Commissioners for its report, and the Board has reported
that no roading is required in respect of the said land, and
that the said agreement is fit and proper to be so confirmed.
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred on him by the said Act, His
Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby confirm the said
agreement dated the twenty-seventh day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and fifteen.
