Appointing Thursday as the Statutory Closing-day in the Combined District of Whangarei and Kamo.
WHEREAS by section 17 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, it is enacted that the result of every poll taken in any separate or combined district shall be notified to the Minister of Labour in the manner therein provided, and the Minister shall thereupon appoint the day determined by the result of such poll as the closing-day for that district:
And whereas the Town Clerk of the Borough of Whangarei has notified to me that the result of the poll taken in the combined district of Whangarei and Kamo, comprising the Borough of Whangarei and the Town District of Kamo, is in favour of Thursday as the statutory closing-day in that combined district:
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred on me by the said section 17, I, William Ferguson Massey, the Minister of Labour, do hereby appoint Thursday as the statutory closing-day in the combined district of Whangarei and Kamo.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Hairdressers' Shops in the Borough of Feilding under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the hairdressers' shops in the Borough of Feilding, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops within the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows : Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 6 o'clock p.m., and Saturdays at 10 o'clock p.m., excepting the two nights preceding the two race-days in November, from the Wednesday of Easter week to the following Wednesday inclusive, the night preceding the Feilding Agricultural Show, and from the 15th December to 3rd January inclusive; and further excepting that on any night preceding a day which is generally observed as a public holiday in the borough any hairdresser whose shop is closed for the whole of that day may keep his shop open until 8 p.m. :
And whereas the Feilding Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the hairdressers' shops within the Borough of Feilding:
Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 31st day of May, 1915, all hairdressers' shops in the Borough of Feilding shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists' shops in the Borough of Feilding, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows : Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 6 o'clock p.m., and Saturdays at 10 o'clock p.m., excepting the two nights preceding the two race-days in November, from the Wednesday of Easter week to the following Wednesday inclusive, the night preceding the Feilding Agricultural Show, and from the 15th December to the 3rd January inclusive ; and further excepting that on any night preceding a day which is generally observed as a public holiday in the borough any tobacconist whose shop is closed for the whole of that day may keep his shop open until 8 p.m. :

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Furniture-dealers’ Shops in the Borough of New Plymouth under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the furniture-dealers’ shops in the Borough of New Plymouth, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows : Monday, 5.30 p.m.; Tuesday, 5.30 p.m.; Wednesday, 5.30 p.m.; Friday, 5.30 p.m.; Saturday, 9 p.m., during the months of May, June, July, August, September, and October; and at 6 p.m. in the evening on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, and Saturday at 9 p.m., during the months of November, December, January, February, March, and April :
And whereas the New Plymouth Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the furniture-dealers’ shops within the Borough of New Plymouth :
Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 31st day of May, 1915, all furniture-dealers’ shops in the Borough of New Plymouth shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Chemists’ Shops in the Borough of Mount Eden, under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the chemists’ shops in the Borough of Mount Eden, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows : Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 8 p.m.; and Friday, 10 p.m. :
And whereas the Mount Eden Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the chemists’ shops within the Borough of Mount Eden :
Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 31st day of May, 1915, all chemists’ shops in the Borough of Mount Eden shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.
NOTE.—The statutory half-holiday is on Saturday from 1 p.m., on which day chemists’ shops may reopen from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. only for the supply of medicines and surgical appliances.

Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds by the Parihaka Road Board.—Notice No. 1783.
Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce, Wellington, 20th May, 1915.
IT is hereby notified for public information that the Parihaka Road Board has, by special order, declared the following plants to be noxious weeds within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the district under its jurisdiction : Gorse, ox-eye daisy, pennyroyal, ragwort, and St. John’s wort.
