Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Franklin County.—Awitu Survey District.
SECTION 1, Block X: Area, 64 acres 0 roods 34 perches. Capital value, £260. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £6 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 4s.
Section 2, Block X: Area, 109 acres 2 roods 10 perches. Capital value, £440. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £11. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £8 16s.
Section 3, Block X: Area, 84 acres 1 rod. Capital value, £340. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £8 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £6 16s.
Altitude, 10 ft. to 200 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, covered with manuka, fern, and patches of gorse, the greater part being ploughable. Light brown soil, fair to good in quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by streams. Distant five miles from Patumahoe by good cart-road, one mile of which is metalled; or twenty-one to twenty-two miles from Onehunga by water.
Franklin County.—Drury Survey District.
Section 4, Block IX: Area, 68 acres 3 roods 2 perches. Capital value, £210. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £5 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4 4s.
Altitude, 10 ft. to 80 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, nearly all ploughable, covered with fern, manuka, and patches of gorse. Light brown soil of fair quality; well watered by stream. Distance five miles from Patumahoe by good cart-road, of which one mile is metalled; or twenty-one miles from Onehunga by water.

SECTIONS 3, 14, and 15, Block III: Area, 287 acres 0 roods 9 perches. Capital value, £290. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £7 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 16s.
Situated at the head of Sunrise and Win’s Valleys. Consists of low slopes and hilly land, well suited for pastoral purposes; originally covered with bush, from which all milling-timber has been removed. About five miles from Thorpe by ridge road.

Opening Settlement Land in Marlborough Land District for Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and amendments, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Friday, the eleventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—MARLBOROUGH COUNTY.—MOUNT OLYMPUS AND SPRAY SURVEY DISTRICTS.—HILLERSDEN SETTLEMENT.
First- and Second-class Land.
SECTION 13, Block VI, Mount Olympus Survey District: Area, 272 acres; rent per acre per annum, 8s. approximately.
Section 13A, Block I, Spray Survey District, and Block XV, Mount Olympus Survey District: Area, 9,890 acres; rent per acre per annum, 9d. approximately.
Total half-yearly rental, £236 0s. 6d. Payment for broken period from 15th to 30th June, 1915, amounting to £19 8s., will also have to be paid.
Improvements that go with the sections consist of boundary and internal fencing valued at £446 15s.
Part of Hillersden Settlement, situated about thirty-five miles from Blenheim. Homestead Block: Section 13 consists of good even land, free of stone. The lower terrace is good silt ground, suitable for lucerne. The upper, or “Bounds,” block (Section 13A) is very largely capable of grassing and substantial improvement. The lower and middle portion of 13A is really nice country, comprising good slopes and generally good sweet tussock country which, if well handled, could be turned to much account. Good tussock extends right to the top of range, excepting around the “Bounds” Peak, which is practically useless. The country lies well, generally facing west and north-west.

Polling-places for Bay of Islands Electoral District appointed.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Legislature Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby abolish all existing polling-places in the electoral district of Bay of Islands, and do hereby appoint the places mentioned in the Schedule hereto to be polling-places for the said electoral district of Bay of Islands.
