Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the thirtieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.

Town of Tauranga (Museum Endowment).

SECTION 2, Lot 773: Area, 3 roods 21 perches; upset price, £65.

Open land, with a considerable amount of gorse. Fronts Turret Road near Hairini Bridge, and about two miles from Tauranga Post-office.

Town of Paeroa.

Section 26, Block IV: Area, 18 perches; upset price, £13.

Section 7, Block XXIV: Area, 1 rood 32 perches; upset price, £10.

Section 26 fronts Willoughby Street. Section 7 fronts Bennett Street. Paeroa is 130 miles from Auckland by rail, or seventy miles by water.

Opening National Endowment Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Waitemata County.—Paremoremo Parish.

SECTION 260: Area, 20 acres 1 rood 24 perches; capital value, £120; half-yearly rent, £2 8s.

Altitude, 80 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level. All ploughable land, covered with light manuka, Fairly good brown soil, on clay subsoil; well watered by running stream. Distant four miles from Albany by good formed road, two miles of which is metalled.

SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Tauranga County—Te Mania Parish.

Section 73: Area, 160 acres 2 roods 17 perches; capital value, £160; half-yearly rent, £3 4s.

Altitude, 100 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken land, covered with short manuka and fern, with scattered Pinus insignis and patches of hakea. Soil inferior light sandy loam, on clay subsoil; poorly watered by swampy gullies. Distant four miles and a half from Katikati Post-office by well-formed cart-road partly metalled.

Tauranga County.—Tahawai Parish.

Section 71: Area, 54 acres 2 roods; capital value, £55; half-yearly rent, £1 2s.

Altitude, 100 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to hilly land, mostly ploughable, but broken by two gullies; all covered with fern and manuka, with a small clump of Pinus insignis near northern boundary. Clay soil of fair quality, on sandstone formation; fairly watered by spring. Distant three miles and a half from Katikati Post-office by formed road.

Bay of Islands County.—Hukerenui Survey District.

Section 9, Block I: Area, 388 acres 0 roods 27 perches; capital value, £390; half-yearly rent, £7 16s.

Altitude, 300 ft. to 900 ft. above sea-level. Broken country, with a few burnt forest clearings; balance mixed forest comprising rata, rimu, kahikatea, totara, about twenty kauri-trees, taraire, rewarewa, towai, and kohekohe. Clay soil, stony in places; well watered by permanent stream. Distant about four miles from Towai Railway-station by formed cart-road.

Section 10, Block I: Area, 420 acres 3 roods 5 perches; capital value, £420; half-yearly rent, £8 8s.

Altitude, 300 ft. to 900 ft. above sea-level. About 200 acres undulating land, balance broken country; about 90 acres fern and manuka, balance mixed forest comprising rata, rimu, kahikatea, totara, about twelve kauri-trees (of which nine are in one clump), taraire, rewarewa, towai, and kohekohe. Soil generally clay, with a small area of pipe-clay; well watered by permanent streams. Distant five miles and a half from Towai by formed cart-road.

Waitemata County.—Paremoremo Parish.

Section 276: Area, 38 acres 3 roods 13 perches; capital value, £145; half-yearly rent, £2 18s.

Altitude, 300 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken land, covered with fern and scrub. Soil of second-class quality, on clay subsoil; fairly watered by springs. Distant two miles and three-quarters from Albany by fair road. New road now being formed will reduce distance to a mile and a half.

Tauranga County.—Maketu Survey District.

Section 27, Block I: Area, 129; capital value, £50 half-yearly rent, £1.

Altitude, 500 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level. Broken land, about 10 acres light mixed forest, principally tawa and
