✨ Railway Land Proclamations
Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the
Purposes of a Road near Elevation.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
forms part of land taken for the purposes of the
Picton-Hurunui Railway, and it is considered desirable to
allocate such land to the purposes of a road:
And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of
Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes: And whereas such land is situated in the Road
District of Picton, the local authority of which has assented
to the issue of this Proclamation:
And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion
that the said local authority can conveniently construct and
maintain the said road:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by section one hundred and ninety-seven of
the Public Works Act, 1908; and of every other power and
authority in anyway enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand
Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be
under the control of the Picton Road Board, and shall be
maintained by the said Board in like manner as other
public highways are controlled and maintained by the said
Board.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 2 roods 0-7 perches.
Portion of railway reserve (S.O.R. 276).
Situated in Block XI, Linkwater Survey District, Picton
Road District.
In the Marlborough Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 21918,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at
Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eighteenth day of
May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine
hundred and fifteen.

Additional Land in Makotuku Survey District taken for the
Purposes of the Raetihi Branch of the North Island Main
Trunk Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use,
convenience, and enjoyment of the Raetihi Branch
of the North Island Main Trunk Railway to take further
land in Makotuku Survey District, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred
and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of
every other power and authority in anyway enabling me
in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the
purposes above mentioned.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land taken: 3 roods
23-28 perches.
Portion of Section 7, Borough of Ohakune.
Situated in Block VIII, Makotuku Survey District.
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 35520
(sheet 3), deposited in the office of the Minister of Public
Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District,
and thereon bordered yellow.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian

is required to be taken for a further portion of the
North Auckland Railway (Huarau and Paparewa Sections),
and for road approaches thereto:
And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law
to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such
land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been
observed and performed:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-eight
of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power
and authority in anyway enabling me in this behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in
the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for a further portion
of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified, and for
the road approaches thereto as aforesaid.
