WAIRIOA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

ELECTRIC LIGHT LOAN OF £4,000, 1915.—RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

THE following resolution was passed at an ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 5th May, 1915:—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and all other Acts in that behalf enabling it, the Wairoa Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of four thousand pounds (£4,000), authorized to be raised by the Borough, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the following purposes:—
To complete the installation of the present electric light and power plant;
To install and house a larger storage battery;
To extend the service to the Wairoa Hospital and to certain other streets;
To build an Engineer’s residence;
To provide the necessary stores, spares, and tools for the efficient working of the plant—
the said Wairoa Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Wairoa. And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy and a correct extract from the minutes of the Wairoa Borough Council as above stated.

CITY OF NELSON.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR RECLAMATION PURPOSES.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and their amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Nelson City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute certain public works—namely, the reclamation of the land vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Nelson under and by virtue of the Nelson Foreshore Reserve Act, 1889, and a certain deed of conveyance bearing date the 1st day of November, 1892, and expressed to be made between Her Most Gracious Majesty Victoria, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen, of the one part, and the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Nelson of the other part; and for the purposes of such public works the land described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in Trafalgar Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of such public works or by the taking of such land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Nelson City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

Approximate area of land required to be taken: 2 roods 4 perches.
Being portion of Section Number 148 (N.R.).
Coloured on Plan: Pink (in outline).
Situated in Block No. VII.
Situated in the Borough, Township, Parish, or Survey District of: City of Nelson.
All in the Land District of Nelson; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan above mentioned.
As witness my hand at Nelson this sixth day of May, 1915.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of the taking under the said Act of certain lands within the County of Waiapu for harbour purposes.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waiapu County Council (a duly incorporated body), under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and its amendments, intends to take by Proclamation the following lands, namely:—

  1. All that piece of land containing sixteen acres and twenty perches, being part of Tawhiti 1F, Block IVA, Tokomaru Survey District.
  2. All that piece of land containing nine perches and six-tenths of a perch, being part Tawhiti 1F, Block IV, Tokomaru Survey District.
    A plan of the said lands proposed to be taken is, by direction of the Waiapu County Council, deposited at the offices of the Council at Waipiro Bay, where the same may be inspected free at all reasonable hours.
    It is proposed that the said lands be taken for harbour purposes.
    The description of the said lands is as shown on the said plan.
    All persons having any objections to the taking of the said lands are hereby required to send such objections in writing to the Waiapu County Council on or before the 24th day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.
    The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waiapu was hereunto affixed this 26th day of April, 1915, in the presence of—

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of the taking under the said Act of certain land within the County of Waiapu for the purpose of a stock-paddock.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waiapu County Council (a duly incorporated body), under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and its amendments, intends to take by Proclamation the following land, namely:—
All that piece of land containing fourteen acres two roods eleven perches, more or less, being part of Manutahi 2B, Block XVI, Mangaporo Survey District.
A plan of the said land proposed to be taken is, by direction of the Waiapu County Council, deposited at the offices of the Council at Waipiro Bay, where the same may be inspected free at all reasonable hours.
It is proposed that the said land be taken as a stock-paddock.
The description of the land is as shown on the said plan.
All persons having any objections to the taking of the said land are hereby required to send such objection in writing to the Waiapu County Council on or before the 24th day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waiapu was hereunto affixed this 26th day of April, 1915, in the presence of—

All that piece of land containing twenty-six perches, being part of the Tututohora 2A 2 Block, Block XV, Matakaoa Survey District.
A plan of the said land proposed to be taken is, by direction of the Waiapu County Council, deposited at the offices of the Council at Waipiro Bay, where the same may be inspected free at all reasonable hours.
It is proposed that the said land be taken for road purposes.
The description of the land is as shown on the said plan.
All persons having any objection to the taking of the said land are hereby required to send such objection in writing to the Waiapu County Council on or before the 24th day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waiapu was hereunto affixed this 26th day of April, 1915, in the presence of—
