THE Auckland Harbour Board have notified that the beacon on north end of Chevalier Point Reef has been knocked down, and will be erected as soon as possible.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Chief Telegraph Engineer, General Post Office, Wellington, up to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the 7th April, 1915, for the supply of an oil-launch. Delivery of the launch is to be made at Wellington.
Specifications and plans may be seen and obtained at the office of the Chief Telegraph Engineer, Wellington, the Telegraph Engineer, Auckland, and the Postmaster, Port Chalmers. Tenders are to be addressed to the Chief Telegraph Engineer, and marked “Tender for Oil-launch.”
The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

APPLICATIONS will be received by the undersigned up till noon on the 2nd April, 1915, for the position of Garden Overseer, Waerenga Experimental Farm.

Applicants are required to be experienced horticulturists, with—
(a.) Thorough knowledge of the propagation of fruit and forest trees;
(b.) Sound knowledge of fruit-growing in all its branches, including pests and spraying;
(c.) Ability to impart information regarding all branches of fruit-growing.
A residence is provided, and the successful applicant will be required to pay £51 per annum for rent, vegetables, fuel, milk, &c.
The appointment will be subject to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1912.
The position will be graded in the General Division. Commencing salary, £180 per annum.
