URUGUAY.
CAPE SANTA MARIA LIGHT.—CORRECTION TO ADMIRALTY PUBLICATIONS.—Former Notice: No. 894 of 1914; hereby cancelled. Position: Lat. 34° 40′ S., long. 54° 9½′ W. New abridged description: Lt. fl. ev. min., 138 ft., vis. 18 m., and lt. F., vis. 10 m. Correction: The amended description of this light as given in the former notice quoted above is incorrect; the correct description is as follows: “A flashing white light, showing a prolonged flash every minute, visible 18 miles; also a fixed white light, visible 10 miles, exhibited from the lower part of the tower.” The publications are to be corrected accordingly.
CHINA, SOUTH COAST.—CANTON RIVER.
CANTON HARBOUR.—ROCK MARKED BY LIGHT-BUOY.—(a.) Rock—Position: At a distance of about 2,120 ft., 227° (S. 47° W. mag.) from the flagstaff of the British Consulate situated on Shamien Island. Lat. 23° 6¼′ N., long. 113° 14¼′ E. Depth: 7 ft. (rock). Remarks: This rock, which is known as “Fongchuen Rock,” is about 100 ft. in length, and extends in a northerly and southerly direction. (b.) Light-buoy—Position: At the northern extremity of the above rock. Description: A black conical light-buoy exhibiting a fixed green light. Variation—Nil.
WASHINGTON.
PUGET SOUND.—ADMIRALTY INLET.—POINT HUDSON LIGHT.—CHARACTERISTIC TO BE CHANGED.—About 15th December, 1914, the characteristic of Point Hudson light will be changed to intermittent every 5 seconds—thus, light 3 seconds, eclipsed 2 seconds.
Approx. position: Lat. 48° 7′ N., long. 122° 44′ 53″ W.
ADMIRALTY INLET.—POINT HUDSON LIGHT.—CHARACTERISTIC CHANGED.—On 8th December, 1914, the characteristic of Point Hudson light was changed to intermittent every 5 seconds—thus, light 3 seconds, eclipsed 2 seconds.

SEATTLE HARBOUR.—COLMAN DOCK LIGHT AND FOG-SIGNAL RE-ESTABLISHED.—Colman Dock light and fog-signal, Seattle Harbour, which were destroyed by fire 30th July, 1914, have been re-established.
HAWAIIAN ISLANDS.
MAUI ISLAND.—MAALAEA BAY.—BUOY TO BE ESTABLISHED.—About 9th December, 1914, Kihei buoy, a red and black horizontally striped first-class tall can, will be established on the shoal about ¾ mile south-westward of Kihei Landing.
BAY OF BENGAL.
RANGOON RIVER.—ELEPHANT POINT RANGE-LIGHTS MOVED.—On 19th September, 1914, Elephant Point range-lights were moved further inland on account of the erosion of the river-bank.
In their new positions the lights in line bear 285°.
Approximate position of Elephant Point: Latitude 16° 29′ N., longitude 96° 20′ E.
PANAMA.
LIMON BAY.—SHOAL TO BE REMOVED.—Notice is given that the harbour in the vicinity of the 17-foot shoal 2,325 yards 129° from Toro Point Lighthouse, with the exception of a small circle having a radius of about 150 yards, has been dredged to a least depth of 30 ft.
Upon the completion of the East Breakwater it is the intention to remove this shoal. Until removed it will be marked by a buoy painted red and black in horizontal bands.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
ST. VINCENT GULF.—STANSBURY JETTY LIGHT.—Masters of vessels and others are hereby informed that, on and after the night of 19th December, 1914, a sixth-order Chance Bros.’ port light will be exhibited from the sea end of the Stansbury Jetty at a height of 23 ft. above high water, showing seaward a fixed white light over the entrance between the bearings of 213° (S. 28° W. mag.) and 236° (S. 51° W. mag.), and a red light over the shoal between the bearings of 236° (S. 51° W. mag.) and 11° (N. 6° E. mag.), visible in clear weather for a distance of about 9 and 2½ miles respectively.
Approximate position: Lat. 34° 54′ 15″ S., long. 137° 48′ E. This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 2152, 2389, and 2389A.
VICTORIA.
LIGHT.—LEWIS CHANNEL.—CORNER INLET.—Mariners and others are hereby notified that an all-round fixed white light, elevated 12 ft. above high water, and visible 4 miles in clear weather, is exhibited from a beacon erected at the outer end of the spit on the west side of the entrance to Lewis Channel leading to Welshpool.
QUEENSLAND.
ILLUMINATED GAS-BUOY.—ENTRANCE CHANNEL.—CAIRNS HARBOUR.—Notice is hereby given that, on or about twenty-third January, an illuminated gas-buoy, painted red, with iron skeleton superstructure, will be moored at the outer end of the Entrance Channel to Cairns Harbour. The buoy will be moored in 24 ft. at low water, 450 ft. to the westward of the present line of leads and about 2,000 ft. to the seaward of the tide clock beacon.
Character of light: White, occulting, 4 seconds bright, 4 seconds dark; visible 8 miles in clear weather. Focal plane, 11 ft. 6 in. above water. Illuminant: Acetylene gas.

JAPAN.
STORM-SIGNALS CHANGED.—The Minister of State for Education, Japan, in the Official Gazette of the 24th July, 1914, gave notice that on 1st August, 1914, the general storm-signals in use at various places on the coasts of Japan would be superseded by a new system.
The new system of storm-signals will be found on the back of the pilot charts of the North Pacific and Indian Oceans for February, 1915.
GULF OF TOKYO.—Notice is hereby given that the character and candle-power of the light of Haneda Lighthouse outside of Haneda Spit, Gulf of Tokyo, have been changed since the 12th of December, 1914.
SHIMONOSEKI STRAIT.—LIGHTED WRECK-BUOYS MOORED.—Notice is hereby given that the following lighted wreck-buoys have been moored at a distance of about 2 cables N. of Moji S.W. lighted buoy, Shimonoseki Strait, Inland Sea, to mark the bow and stern of the wrecked steamer Kisakata Maru:—
Moji-ko-gwai Lighted Wreck-buoy (Bow).
Description: Iron frustum of cone in shape, painted green, surmounted by a latticework supporting a lantern. Height of light: 10 shaku above the water. Character of light: Pintsch’s gas, occulting green, light four (4) seconds, eclipse four (4) seconds. Illuminated arc: The whole horizon. Candle-power: 10. Visible distance: 4 nautical miles in clear night. Depth of water: About 9 fathoms at I.W.S.T. Magnetic bearings taken from the buoy: Kameyama-miya, N. 38° W.; Shimonoseki low light, N. 17° 40′ E.; Kojo-yama, N. 71° E.
Moji-ko-gwai Lighted Wreck-buoy (Stern).

EAST COAST OF KYUSHU.—Notice is hereby given that the light of Aki-saki Lighthouse on Aki-saki, Province of Bungo, which was discontinued, has been relighted as formerly.
WEST COAST OF KYUSHU.—Notice is hereby given that the character and others of Gotsu-sho Beacon light, N. of Amakushimoshima, Hayasaki-seto, Province of Higo, will be changed as follows at the beginning of January, 1915:—
Gotsu-sho Beacon Light.
Character of light: Acetylene gas, flashing white, showing one (1) flash every six (6) seconds. Illuminated arc: An arc 330°, from N. 17° E., through E., S., and W. to N. 13° W. (magnetic bearings taken from seaward). Candle-power: 250. Visible distance: 11 nautical miles in clear night. Further notice will be given after the above changes have been effected.
INLAND SEA.—NEWLY ESTABLISHED BEACON LIGHT TO BE SHOWN.—Notice is hereby given that the newly established Sengai-se lighted beacon on Sengai-se, off Okikamuro-shima, Province of Suo, Inland Sea, will be shown as follows at the beginning of January, 1915:—

Position: Lat. 33° 49′ 21″ N., long. 132° 21′ 38″ E. (according to the Japanese Admiralty Chart No. 140). Description: Lower part circular, concrete, upper part iron latticework, with red and black horizontal bands. Height of light: 32
