Navigation Marks, New Cutting, Rocky Point Bar, Fitzroy River.

Notice is hereby given that two leading-beacons have been erected to mark the new cutting through Rocky Point Bar, Fitzroy River, also a square beacon to mark the “turn off” from that lead, and on and after Wednesday, the 24th instant, lights will be exhibited from these marks for night navigation. The lights shown from the leading-beacons will be white, and that from the “turn off” mark red.

DIRECTIONS.—By Day: Vessels entering the river, after passing Rocky Point, should bring two white triangular beacons (which will open out on the port bow) in line ahead, and proceed with these in line until a white square mark (erected on the stone wall on port hand) is abeam; the leading-marks should then be left and the usual course steered up for Thompson’s Point. By Night: Vessels entering the river, after passing Rocky Point, should bring two white lights (which will open out on the port bow) in line ahead, and proceed with these in line until a red light (which is erected on the stone wall on port hand) is abeam; the leading-lights should then be left and the usual course steered towards Thompson’s Point.
