Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in the Canterbury Land District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in His Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and in the case of any reserve made under the authority of section three hundred and twenty-one of the Land Act, 1908, if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose for which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more of the purposes named in the said Class II, the Governor may, by notice gazetted, make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the portion of the reserve described in Part II of the Schedule hereto from that named in Part I of the said Schedule to that named in Part III of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.
PART I.
Description and Purpose of Original Reserve.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing 2,560 acres, more or less, around and including the hot springs on the Hanmer Plain, near Jollie’s Pass, forming a parallelogram at the base of the hills bounding the plain on the north. Reserved for public purposes in Nelson Provincial Gazette No. 2, of the 11th February, 1860, page 6.

PART II.
Description of Portion of Reserve the Purpose of which it is intended to change.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 32 perches, more or less, and being Section 5, Block II, Hanmer Springs Township, bounded as follows: On the north-east by Section 4, Block II, of the said township, 300 links; on the south-east by Sections 8 and 14 of the said block, 150 links; on the south-west by Section 6 of the said block, 300 links; and on the north-west by Amuri Road, 150 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. VI/1 (86), deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

PART III.
Intended Purpose.

Site for a fire-brigade station.

Opening Lands in Southland Land District for Sale or Selection.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the twenty-fifth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SOUTHLAND COUNTY.

Mabel Hundred.—First-class Land.

SECTION Part 1, Block II: Area, 62 acres 1 rood 18 perches. Capital value, £170. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £4 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3 8s.

Section has been cultivated, but is now in old grass. Light soil, shingly in parts. Access by good gravelled road. Situated within thirty chains of Grove Bush Dairy Factory and school, and six miles and a quarter from Woodlands Railway-station. Present lessee has right to remove fencing.

Campbelltown Hundred.—Second-class Land.

Section 16, Block XI: Area, 100 acres 2 roods 36 perches. Capital value, £40. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £1. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 16s.

Section 17, Block XI: Area, 100 acres 2 roods 36 perches. Capital value, £40. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £1. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 16s.

Section 18, Block XI: Area, 141 acres 3 roods 30 perches. Capital value, £55. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £1 7s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £1 2s.

Section 19, Block XI: Area, 141 acres 3 roods 30 perches. Capital value, £55. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £1 7s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £1 2s.

Soil inferior and of peaty nature. Surface covered with manuka scrub, moss, swamp, grass, &c. Situated on Awarua Bay Road, five miles and a quarter from Woodend Railway-station, post-office, and dairy factory; three miles and three-quarters from a school.

New River Hundred.—Third-class Land.

Section 19, Block XIX: Area, 101 acres 3 roods. Capital value, £30. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, 15s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 12s.

Covered with light bush of no commercial value; light undergrowth. Soil fair to good, on gravel formation. Low lying and swampy. About four miles and a half from Wright’s Bush Railway-station by partly formed road.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.

Notifying Lands in Taranaki Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the nineteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
