Conferring Extended Jurisdiction on the Native Land Court.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this fifteenth day of November, 1915.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty-five of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that the Governor may by Order in Council confer upon the Native Land Court, as effectually as if the same was conferred by that Act, jurisdiction in any matter or question affecting the rights of Natives in any real or personal property, and thereupon the Court shall have jurisdiction and power to determine the matter or question according to law:
And whereas application has been made under the said section for the issue of an Order in Council giving the Native Land Court jurisdiction to inquire into the ownership of a flock of sheep depasturing on the Rotokautuku 2r 1, 2r 2, 2r 3b, and 6r 1 Blocks, and on parts of Waitekaha Block, in the County of Waiapu, and formerly registered for the purposes of the Stock Act in the name of Rawinia te Aungira, deceased, and now in the name of Were Warihi:
And whereas it is expedient that the Native Land Court should be empowered to inquire into and ascertain the rightful owners of the said sheep, and to make such orders and determinations in the premises as the Court shall deem necessary:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section twenty-five of the Native Land Act, 1909, and acting by and with the consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the investigation and determination of the aforesaid matters, and of any matters or questions which may arise in relation thereto, or which it shall be necessary to determine for the purpose aforesaid, shall be and the same are conferred and brought within the jurisdiction of the said Court.
And it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Native Land Act, 1909, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor in Council to the proceedings hereby authorized.

And whereas the owners of a block of land, known as Te Pakihi or Marangairoa Ic Block, in the County of Waiapu, claim to be the owners of a flock of sheep depasturing on the said land, and registered for the purposes of the Stock Act in the names of Heni Huriwai and Ripeka Hinekino:
And whereas it is alleged that the persons managing the said land, which is also known as Te Pakihi Station, have refused to render accounts or to pay to the owners of the said land any of the proceeds or income from the said flock:
And whereas doubts have arisen as to the position of the ownership or control of the said flock: And whereas it is expedient that the Native Land Court should be empowered to inquire into and determine the following questions:—

To ascertain and determine who are the rightful owners of the said flock of sheep:

To take the accounts of the persons managing the said flock of sheep from the year one thousand nine hundred and six to the date of the inquiry, and to ascertain the amount due in respect of such flock, whether to the reputed owners or to any other person:

To direct in what manner and by whom the accounts in respect of the said flock of sheep shall be kept and rendered,
and to make such orders and determinations in the premises as the Court shall deem necessary:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by subsection one of section twenty-five of the Native Land Act, 1909, and acting by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the investigation and determination of the aforesaid matters, and of any matters or questions which may arise in relation thereto or which it shall be necessary to determine for the purpose aforesaid, shall be and the same are hereby conferred and brought within the jurisdiction of the said Court:

Prohibiting all Private Alienation of certain Native Land.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of November, 1915.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienations of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

Declaring Road in Block XV, Maruia Survey District, to be a Government Road.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this fifteenth day of November, 1915.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a Government road.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road declared a Government road: 2 acres 2 roods.
Adjoining or passing through Sections 3, 4, and 20 (Nelson R.D.), Block XV, Maruia Survey District.
In the Nelson Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 37367, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured green.
