GUALTER, DYKES, AND CO.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership between AUBREY GUALTER and JAMES DYKES, carried on at Featherston Street, Wellington, under the style of “Gualter, Dykes, and Co.,” is dissolved. The business will in future be carried on alone by AUBREY FRANCIS GUALTER, to whom all moneys owing to the late firm should be paid, and whose receipt alone will be a sufficient discharge.

MANGAPAPA TOWN BOARD.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON ADOPTING THE SYSTEM OF RATING ON THE UNIMPROVED VALUE IN THE MANGAPAPA TOWN BOARD DISTRICT.

In the matter of the Town Boards Act, 1908, and of the Rating Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same respectively.

I HEREBY give notice that on the thirteenth day of October, 1915, a proposal was submitted by the Mangapapa Town Board to the ratepayers of the Mangapapa Town Board District, that henceforth the system of rating property on the basis of the unimproved value thereof be adopted in the Mangapapa Town Board District. And the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the said proposal was as follows: For, 109; against, 164; informal, 14.

And I therefore declare the said proposal to be lost by fifty-five (55) votes.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—LOAN OF £500.—TURAKINA RIVER ROAD.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Rangitikei County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be raised by the Rangitikei County Council, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of widening, trimming, and metalling on unmetalled portions of the Turakina River Road between Mr. A. Livingstone’s wool-shed and the entrance gate to Mrs. David McGregor’s homestead, and the cost of raising the loan to be paid out of the loan, the said Rangitikei County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-third of a penny (⅓d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Turakina River Road Special-rating District, comprising Sections 73, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 85, and 86, Paraekaretu Block, in Block III, Wangaehu Survey District; and Section 84 and part Section 87 (100 acres), Paraekaretu Block, and part Section 1, Ohaumoko Block (643 acres), in Block XV, Mangawhero Survey District: as the said special-rating district is more particularly shown upon the plan attached to the ratepayers’ consent to such loan, and thereon bordered red. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36 years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Rangitikei County Council held on the 30th day of October, 1915.

In testimony whereof the common seal of the said Rangitikei County Council has been hereunto affixed.

PALMERSTON NORTH SEWERAGE LOAN REPAYMENT LOAN (1915) OF £15,000.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Palmerston North Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £15,000, authorized to be raised by the Palmerston North Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of paying off the loan of £16,000 raised for the purpose of carrying out sewerage works, the said Palmerston North Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirteen-eightieths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) on all rateable property of the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the Borough of Palmerston North; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being for a period of 6 years and 8 months, or thereabouts—that is to say, until the 20th day of August, 1922, or until the loan is fully paid off.

FITZHERBERT BRIDGE LOAN REPAYMENT LOAN (1915) OF £1,600, AND AWAHURI BRIDGE LOAN REPAYMENT LOAN (1915) OF £860.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Palmerston North Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking funds, and other charges on loans of £1,600 and £860, authorized to be raised by the Palmerston North Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of paying off the loans of £1,850 and £1,000 raised in 1905 in connection with repairs to Fitzherbert Bridge and Awahuri Bridge respectively, the said Palmerston North Borough Council hereby makes and levies special rates of one sixtieth and one one-hundred-and-tenth respectively of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the Borough of Palmerston North; and that such special rates shall be annual-recurring rates during the currency of such loans, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of the said loans, being periods of 6 years and 7 months and 6 years and 1 month respectively, or thereabouts—that is to say, until the 20th day of August, 1922, or until the loans are fully paid off.

PALMERSTON NORTH WATERWORKS LOAN REPAYMENT LOAN (1915) OF £23,500.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Palmerston North Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £23,500, authorized to be raised by the Palmerston North Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of being applied (with other moneys) to pay off the loan of £26,000 raised for the purpose of carrying out waterworks, the said Palmerston North Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fourth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all the rateable property of the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the Borough of Palmerston North; and that
