Land in Otago Land District forfeited.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the under-
mentioned land having been declared forfeited by
resolution of the Otago Land Board, the said land has
thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the
Land Act, 1908.

Section 2a, Bellamy Settlement.

TENURE: R.L. Lease No. 243. Formerly held by Percy
Albert Walker. Reason for forfeiture: Section abandoned.

Education Reserves in Otago Land District for Lease by Public
Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned educa-
tion reserves will be offered for lease by public auction
at this office on Wednesday, the 22nd day of December, 1915,
at 11 o’clock a.m., under the provisions of the Education
Reserves Act, 1908, and amendments, and the Public Bodies’
Leases Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN OF HERBERT.—EDUCATION
RESERVES.

SECTION 15, Block XVIII: Area, 1 rood; upset annual
rental, 10s.

Weighted with 15s., valuation for fencing. Good building-
site, with good access; about half a mile from school, railway-
station, and post-office.

Section 17, Block XXI: Area, 1 rood 8 perches; upset
annual rental, 6s.

Weighted with £1 10s., valuation for fencing. Level land,
good building-site; good access; about a mile from school,
railway-station, and post-office.

ABSTRACT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. Possession will be given on 1st January, 1916, on which
    date the term will commence.

  2. A half-year’s rent at the rate offered, lease and registra-
    tion fees, and valuation for improvements, to be paid on fall
    of the hammer.

  3. The term of lease is twenty years and six months,
    without right of renewal.

  4. At the end of term lease to be offered by auction for
    further term of twenty-one years at rent to be fixed by
    arbitration, the incoming lessee to pay the value of the
    improvements, which is to be handed over to the outgoing
    lessee.

  5. No assignment or sublease without consent.

  6. Interest at the rate of 10 per cent. per annum to be
    paid on rent in arrear.

  7. Consent of Land Board to be obtained before erecting
    any buildings or effecting other improvements.

  8. Lease is liable to forfeiture if conditions violated.

Pastoral Run in Nelson Land District for License by Public
Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Nelson, 8th November, 1915.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral
run will be offered for license by public auction at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, at 11 o’clock a.m. on
Wednesday, 22nd December, 1915, under the provisions of
the Land Act, 1908, and amendments.

SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.

RUN No. 23, Collingwood County: Area, 10,000 acres;
minimum annual rent, £34; term of license, twenty-one
years; Class B.

Situated on the left bank of the Heaphy River and along
the seaboard, extending from the Heaphy River southwards
to within short distance of the Kohaihai River. There are
in the Heaphy Valley about 350 acres of really good land
included in the run, 150 acres of which is flat land, excep-
tionally rich, being derived from limestone hills which flank
the valley. A large area of bush on the run contains good
cattle feed. Present access is by horse-track from Heaphy
to Collingwood (sixty miles). The distance from Karamea
is about twenty-one miles—eleven miles along the sea-beach,
remaining ten miles walking-track only. No pack-track has
been cut.

Possession of the run will be given on the day of the sale.

Pastoral Run in Canterbury Land District for License by Public
Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 8th November, 1915.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral
run will be offered for license by public auction at the
local Land Office, Timaru, at 11 o’clock a.m. on Wednesday,
22nd December, 1915, under the provisions of the Land Act,
1908, and amendments.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—MACKENZIE COUNTY.—BURKE
SURVEY DISTRICT.

Class A.—National Endowment.

RUN No. 244: Area, 2,200 acres; minimum annual rental,
£82 10s.; term, twenty-one years.

Weighted with £214 18s., valuation for fencing, which must
either be paid in cash at time of the sale or in forty-two
half-yearly instalments of £8 7s. 8d.

Situated about thirteen miles from Fairlie Railway-station
by motor-road. Altitude, 1,900 ft. to 4,500 ft. Nearly all
hills, covered with tussock and grass; well watered. An
easement, 25 links wide, is reserved, covering the water-race
and creek supplying the Sawdon Homestead with water.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS.

The licensee of the run shall, during the second and every
succeeding year of the term of his license, plant with suitable
trees, to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Crown Lands,
an area of at least one acre upon some part of his run. The
number of trees so planted upon every acre shall be at least
1,000. The areas planted shall be securely fenced in with a
rabbit- and stock-proof fence; all failures or losses shall from
time to time be replanted as may be found necessary; and
the plantations shall be protected, trimmed, and maintained
during the term of the license to the satisfaction of the Com-
missioner of Crown Lands.

The licensee shall not, during the months of December,
January, February, March, April, May, and June, or such
other months not exceeding altogether seven in any one
year as the Commissioner shall from time to time determine,
burn the grass on his run.

The run is described for the general information of intending
bidders, who are recommended, nevertheless, to make a
personal inspection, as the Department is not responsible for
the absolute accuracy of any description.

Immediate possession will be given.

Full particulars may be ascertained and plans obtained at
this office.

RESERVE 224, Block II: Area, 49 acres 1 rood 35 perches;
