Lumsden Town District not to be Part of County of Southland.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of November, 1915.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS the Governor is satisfied that the population of the Lumsden Town District, in the County of Southland, exceeds five hundred, and the Town Board of the said Lumsden Town District has made application that the said town district shall not form part of the County of Southland, being the county within the boundaries of which it is situated:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Town Boards Amendment Act, 1908 (No. 2), and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that, on and after the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, the Lumsden Town District shall not form part of the County of Southland.

Prohibiting all Private Alienation of certain Native Land.

At the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of November, 1915.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienations of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

Provisions of Mortgages Extension Act, 1914, not to apply in certain Cases.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of November, 1915.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by section two of the Mortgages Extension Amendment Act, 1914 (No. 2), it is provided that the Governor may from time to time, by Order in Council gazetted, suspend the operation of the Mortgages Extension Act, 1914, for such period as he thinks fit, or may modify any of the provisions of that Act as he thinks fit, and may revoke any such Order in Council:
And whereas it is deemed expedient that the provisions of the Mortgages Extension Act, 1914, should not apply to “agreements to purchase” entered into under the provisions of the Workers’ Dwellings Act, 1910, and amendments thereof:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section two of the Mortgages Extension Amendment Act, 1914 (No. 2), doth hereby declare that from and after the date hereof the provisions of the Mortgages Extension Act, 1914, shall not apply to “agreements to purchase” entered into under the provisions of the Workers’ Dwellings Act, 1910, and the amendments thereof.

Petone Borough Council declared a Leasing Authority under the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of November, 1915.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS the Petone Borough Council is a body of persons having power to lease lands held in trust, reserved, or set apart for public purposes, and has requested the Governor in Council to declare it to be a leasing authority within the meaning of the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in compliance with such request, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred by the above-mentioned Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the Petone Borough Council is a leasing authority within the meaning of the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

Portion of Eglinton Road, in the City of Dunedin, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of November, 1915.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of any road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or to any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor in Council:
And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions with respect to the building-line as the Governor, by Order in Council, thinks fit to impose:
And whereas the Dunedin City Council, being the local authority having control of the portion of street described in the Schedule hereto, did, on the eighth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, pass the following resolution—viz., “That the Council of the City of Dunedin hereby resolves that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to that portion of street in the City of Dunedin known as Eglinton Road fronting parts of Sections 98 and 99, Block VI, Town District, and being Lot 1 on Land Transfer plan No. 1583, contained in certificate of title, Vol. 129, folio 300”:
And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of Eglinton Road, in the Otago Land District, City of Dunedin, adjoining parts of Sections 98 and 99, Block VI, Town District, and being Lot 1 on Land Transfer plan No. 1583, contained in certificate of title, Vol. 129, folio 300. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 38748, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.
