Altering Boundaries of Waitotara and Patea Counties.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section three of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913, that the boundaries of any one or more counties may be altered in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the Council of each of such counties in which the principal Act is in force:

And whereas a resolution was passed by the Waitotara County Council on the second day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and sealed with the seal of the Council of the said county on the second day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen:

And whereas a similar resolution was passed by the Patea County Council on the ninth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and sealed with the seal of the said county on the ninth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, praying for the alteration of the boundaries of such counties in the manner described in the said resolutions and in the First and Second Schedules hereto:

And whereas it is expedient to make such alteration in accordance with the said resolutions:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by the said Act, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the areas described in the First Schedule hereto, being now part of the Patea County, shall, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, be deemed to be added to and form part of the Waitotara County, and that the area described in the Second Schedule hereto, being now part of the Waitotara County, shall, as from the date of such publication as aforesaid, be deemed to be added to and form part of the Patea County; and, with the like power and authority, do proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Counties of Waitotara and Patea respectively shall, as from the aforesaid date, be those set forth under their respective headings in the Third Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREAS TO BE ADDED TO WAITOTARA COUNTY.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Manganui-o-tahu Block; thence along the northern boundary of that block, the Manganui-o-tahu Stream, and the western boundary of the said block to Te Korokio Stream, and along that stream to its confluence with the Mangamingi Stream, along that stream to and along the north-eastern boundary of Section 11, Block XIV, Momahaki Survey District, to Pakira Trig. Station; and thence along the eastern boundary of Patea County as described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 23rd October, 1902, page 2325, to the place of commencement.

Also all that area bounded by a line commencing at Pakira Trig. Station; thence along the southern boundary of Section 11, Block XIV, Momahaki Survey District, to Orangi-hoangi Trig. Station; thence along the western boundaries of Lots 17 and 14 on plan No. 918, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington, to and across the Waitotara Road and the eastern boundary of Lot 4 on plan No. 659, deposited as aforesaid, to the south-eastern boundary of the Patea County; and thence along the south-eastern and eastern boundaries of that county to Pakira Trig. Station, the place of commencement.

Also all that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the Mangaone Stream by the south-eastern boundary of the Patea County; thence along that stream to the eastern boundary of Section 16, Block V, Nukumaru Survey District, along the eastern boundary of that section to Wharekarangi Trig. Station, along the southern boundary of the said section to the Mangaone Stream, and along that stream to the Waitotara River; thence to and along the middle of that river to the boundary of Patea County; and thence along the south-eastern boundary of that county to Mangaone Stream, the place of commencement.

ERRATA.—In Gazette No. 115, of the 7th October, 1915, page 3441, New Zealand Expeditionary Force (Europe), 7th Reinforcements, Appointments to New Zealand Medical Corps, for “Captain Douglas Gordon McPherson” read “Lieutenant Douglas Gordon McPherson (with rank of Captain while employed with New Zealand Expeditionary Force).”

In the seventeenth line of the second column of the Schedule to the Proclamation published in Gazette No. 112, page 3283, of the 23rd September, 1915, taking land for a portion of the North Auckland Railway (branch line to Whangarei) for road-diversions in connection therewith and a road approach thereto, for “5” read “6.”

In the twenty-second line of the second column of the Schedule to the Proclamation published in Gazette No. 109, pages 3219 and 3220, of the 16th September, 1915, taking land for a further portion of the Kawakawa-Hokianga Railway and for a road-diversion in connection therewith, for “V” read “C.”
