Defining the Middle-line of the Manai'a Branch of the Eltham—
Opunake Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Manai'a Branch of the Eltham-Opunake
Railway from the Manai'a Road crossing on the
authorized line to Manai'a (hereinafter termed “the said
railway”) is a railway the construction of which is autho-
rized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1914: And
whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain
the said railway :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of
the Public Works Act, 1908, and in exercise of every other
power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the
said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule
hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point on the Eltham-Opunake Railway line
marked 6 M. 66·67 Ch., near the southern and western bound-
ary of Section 11, Block XV, Kaupokonui Survey District, and
marked 0 M. on the Manai'a Branch Railway, and proceeding
thence in a south-westerly direction generally for a distance of
5 miles 49 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the
following lands, &c.—viz., Section 11, Subdivision 2 of Sec-
tion 34, Section 16, Subdivision 1 of Section 34, Subdivision 2
of E.R. 22, Subdivision 3 of E.R. 22, Sections 24, 26, Sub-
divisions 1 and 2 of E.R. 23, Block XV, Kaupokonui Survey
District ; Education Reserves 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, Subdivision 1
(E.R. 63 and part E.R. 21), Subdivision 2 (part E.R. 21),
Education Reserves 22, 23, 24, Section 2, Block III, Waimate
Survey District ; Sections 105, 95, 96, 94, 93, 92, 91, and 90,
Block VII, Waimate Survey District—and terminating at a
point on the eastern boundary of Section 90, Block VII,
Waimate Survey District, marked 5 M. 49 Ch. ; including
all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads,
tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses ; all in
the Land District of Taranaki. As the same is delineated
on the plan marked P.W.D. 38655, deposited in the office of
the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington
Provincial District.

Land taken for the Purposes of Street-widening in the City
of Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken, under the Public Works
Act, 1908, for the purposes of street-widening in the City
of Wellington :
And whereas an agreement has been entered into between
the Wellington City Council and the owner of the land
described in the Schedule hereto to take such land for the
purposes of street-widening :
And whereas the Wellington City Council has laid before
the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map in dupli-
cate, as required by the said Act :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the
Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, and
being satisfied of the sufficiency of the agreement herein-
before referred to, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken
for the purposes of the said street-widening, and shall, as
from the date hereinafter specified, vest in the Mayor,
Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Wellington, and I
do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on
and after the first day of November, one thousand nine
hundred and fifteen.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 0·26 perches.
Portion of Section 5, Sir George Grey’s Reclamation (Town
of Wellington R.D.), City of Wellington.

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 38677,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
