NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of the company will be held on Wednesday, the thirteenth day of October, 1915, at 5 p.m., at the office of the company, 141 George Street, Dunedin, for the purpose of laying before the meeting the account of the Liquidator showing the manner in which the winding-up of the company has been conducted and the assets of the company disposed of.

BOROUGH OF GREYMOUTH.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

WHEREAS the Greymouth Borough Council has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow £20,620 for the purpose of town improvements, and the State Advances Board decided to finally grant the application for such loan at the rate of interest of £3 10s. per centum per annum: And whereas the State Advances Superintendent is unable to advance part of such loan (namely, £600) at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of £4 10s. per centum per annum:

Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it on that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Greymouth Borough Council hereby resolves that, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect of such part of such loan (namely, £600), the said Greymouth Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixteenth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Greymouth; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such part of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of April and the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such part of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until such part of such loan is fully paid off.

The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Greymouth was hereto affixed to the above-written resolution by order of the Council of the said borough this 20th day of May, 1915, by and in the presence of—

CITY OF NELSON.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR PLEASURE OR RECREATION GROUNDS.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and their amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Nelson City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute certain public works—namely, the providing of land to be used as pleasure or recreation grounds; and for the purposes of such public works the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.

And notice is hereby further given that plans of the lands so required to be taken are deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in Trafalgar Street in the said city, and are there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of such public works or by the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Nelson City Council addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

It was unanimously resolved by the members of the company, “That the company be wound up voluntarily; and that OSCAR W. B. ANDERSON, Public Accountant, 213 Manchester Street, Christchurch, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Mount Albert Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of three hundred pounds, authorized to be raised by the Mount Albert Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of the provision of a flushing-tank for the disposal of nightsoil, the said Mount Albert Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one three-hundredth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of Mount Albert; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years.

I, Harry Utting, Town Clerk of the Borough of Mount Albert, do hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Mount Albert Borough Council at a meeting held on Monday, the 27th day of September, 1915.
