Special Order made by the Great Barrier Island County Council altering Ridings.

THE following special order, made by the Great Barrier Island County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

GREAT BARRIER ISLAND COUNTY.
A RESOLUTION was moved and carried at a special meeting of the Great Barrier Island County Council held in July, was advertised, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting in September, 1915, to the effect that the Councillors, in accordance with the power vested in them under section 23 of the Counties Act, 1908, revoke the present division of the county into three ridings, and in lieu thereof divide the county known as the Great Barrier Island County into two ridings, called the North and South Riding respectively.
The boundary to commence at a place known as Flynn’s boundary on the west coast of the Great Barrier Island, and to continue to the east coast to a point to be defined by the Valuation Department so that the roads existing and the equitable value is approximately the same in each riding.
Each riding to return three Councillors.
I hereby certify that the above is true and correct, and has been duly entered in the minute-book of the Great Barrier Island County Council.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Otamatea, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

OTAMATEA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Paparoa Riding of the Otamatea County was taken on the 15th day of September, 1915, on the proposal of the Otamatea County Council to borrow the sum of £2,380 for the formation and metalling of roads in the Paparoa Riding of the said county. The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 69, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 19.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Council of the County of Collingwood, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

COLLINGWOOD COUNTY COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Collingwood taken on Wednesday, the 15th September, 1915, on the proposal to borrow £1,800 for the purpose of erecting a new wharf at Collingwood, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 86, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 42; informal votes, 0.
As the total number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal is at least three-fifths of the total number of votes recorded at the poll, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

HIKURANGI TOWN BOARD.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give public notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Hikurangi Town District was taken on the 21st day of September, 1915, on the proposal of the Hikurangi Town Board to borrow the sum of £4,000 (four thousand pounds) for the purpose of metalling, channelling, and kerbing streets and footpaths, including construction of a traffic-bridge in reinforced concrete over the Mangawhero Stream, in King Street, Hikurangi Town District.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 98. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 10.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Council of the Borough of Timaru, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

TIMARU BOROUGH COUNCIL.
AMENDED declaration of result of a poll on the following proposal to raise a special loan under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, which poll was taken on the 1st day of September, 1915.
Proposal.
(a.) The particular purpose for which the loan is required is for purchasing the local electric-light installation, plant, power-house, and site from Messrs. J. L. and G. Scott; for providing extension of plant and installation; for providing the necessary money to enable the said Council to convert the said electrical installation from direct-current system to alternating current; for providing the necessary money to purchase electrical fittings for private installation work; for providing advances to owners of properties to enable them to install electricity; and for providing for such other outlay as may be considered necessary thereto, prescribed by the said Acts or any of them.
(b.) The sum proposed to be borrowed for such purpose is £50,000, having a currency not exceeding fifty years, and bearing interest not exceeding £5 per centum per annum, or such lesser or greater amount as may be required for interest and may be allowed by law for the purpose of this loan and for other purposes in relation thereto, prescribed by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, or either of them.
(c.) The proposed security is a special rate of 6½d. in the pound sterling on the amount of the annual rateable value of
