| Prohibitions.—Letters; coin; munitions of war, explosives and their constituents; kif, chira, hashish and takrouri; salt, matches, and playing-cards; vines and all parts of the vine, vine-sticks, grapes, &c.; fresh truffles; infringements of copyright works, and imitations of Tunisian chéchias; saccharine and products containing saccharine; manufactured or adulterated wines; arms and tobacco (except under permit); plants and shrubs; articles of gold and silver (except in insured parcels and subject to assay). | Observations.—Customs declarations should be in full detail and in the case of merchandise should be accompanied by a certified invoice. | Tunis. |
| Prohibitions.—Tobacco in any form except cigars, chewing tobacco, and snuff; articles of culluloid (except in zinc boxes), coin, bullion exceeding £5 in value, oilskins and similar goods, rifles and rifle-ammunition of army pattern, revolvers of which the barrels exceed 15 centimetres (nearly 6 in.) in length, patent medicines, hashish, post-cards of private manufacture bearing the heading “Postes Impériales Ottomanes,” skins (unless accompanied by a sanitary certificate); plants, parts of plants and flowers are subject to special restrictions, and can be sent by parcel-post only at the sender’s risk. | |
| Observations.—All parcels must be sealed. Parcels packed in cardboard or paper only, except linen-faced paper, will not be accepted for transmission. Parcels for the British Agencies at Beyrout, Constantinople, Salonica, and Smyrna are delivered on application by the addressees at the Customhouse; and the responsibility of the Post-office terminates with the delivery to the addressees of the order authorizing them to obtain the parcels from the Customs. | Turkey. |
