Special Prohibitions and Observations,

(Prohibitions.—Same as Japan. Additional: Arms and munitions of war (except when authorized by Chinese Government); opium, morphine, and instruments for injecting morphine, cocaine, and cocaine-injectors (except under the regulations of the Chinese Government).
Observations.—The names of the places in Japanese territory in the Liaotung Peninsula for which parcels can be accepted are: Dairen (Dainy), Furanten (Pulantien or Port Adams), Hishika (Pitzuwo), Kinshu (Kinchau or Chinchow), Riojun (Port Arthur), Riujuton (Liushutun). There are Japanese Agencies in Manchuria at Antoken (Antung), Bujun (Fushun), Changchun (Choshun), Daisekkio (Tashichiao), Daitoko (Tatung-kou), Gaihei (Kaiping), Gwaboten (Wafangtien), Honkeiko (Penhsiku), Hoten (Mukden), Howojo (Fenghuangcheng), Kaijo (Haicheng), Kai-yuen (Kaigen), Koshurei (Kungchuling), Rioyo (Liaoyang), Shihelgai (Supingchieh), Shinminfu (Singmingfu), Shoto (Changtu), Sokako (Tsaohokow), Sokaton (Suchiatun), Tetsurei (Tiehling or Thieling), Yendai (Yentai), Yugakujo (Hsiungyo-cheng).

Prohibitions.—Same as Russia.
Observations.—For regulations as to packing, preparation of Customs Declarations, &c., see under “Russia.” There are Russian Agencies at Anda, Aschiche (Ashiho), Buchedu (Boukhédou), Chailar, Charbin, (Kharbine or Harbin), Echo (Ekho), Hailin (Khaïline), Handaochezsi, Imianpo, Jaomyn, Kouantschenzsi (Kwanchengtze), Mandchouria, Miandouché, Mulln (Mouline), Pogranitschnaja, Taolaitchao, Tscha-lainor, Tschalantoune, Uzalmi (Outsimi), Zizikar (Tsitsihar).

(Prohibitions.—Arms and ammunition, bullion exceeding £5 in value, oilskins and similar goods.
Observations.—The conditions of transit in Colombia are exceptional, and, to prevent injury, parcels should be very strongly packed. The exact weight of each parcel should be entered on the Customs declaration. In order to facilitate passage through the Customs, parcels should be accompanied by a duplicate of the original invoice or a detailed list of the contents, signed by the sender, in addition to the Customs Declaration.

Prohibitions.—Same as France, except as regards tobacco, of which the importation is permitted.
Observations.—Parcels somewhat exceeding 2 ft. in length are admitted if their other dimensions are small.

Prohibitions.—Precious metals; hypodermic syringes; opium and its alkaloids, unless requisitioned by the Government; bullion exceeding £5 in value; oilskins and similar goods.

Prohibitions.—Same as Greece.
Observations.—Parcels which do not measure more than 8 in. in depth or breadth may be as much as 3 ft. 3 in. in length.
