“1. That a lease of the said land, or portion thereof, be given to Materoa Huuka and Te Arika, as tenants in common, for a period of twenty-one years, at a rental not less than 5 per centum per annum of the present Government valuation of the said land, together with the right to a renewal for a further term of twenty-one years at a rental equal to 5 per centum per annum of the then Government unimproved valuation of the said land, or with the right to compensation for improvements. Lease to contain the usual covenants.
“2. That the owners desire that the Order in Council making the land subject to Part XVI be wholly revoked, the land not being required for Maori occupation thereunder.”

Notice of Meeting of Owners under Part XVIII of the Native Land Act, 1909.
REGULATION No. 48.
THE Maori Land Board for the Tairawhiti Maori Land District hereby notifies that a meeting of the owners of Tuawhatu 1B 2 No. 2B Block is summoned and will be held, in pursuance of Part XVIII of the Native Land Act, 1909, at Whangara on Friday, the 19th day of February, 1915, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of considering the following proposed resolution:—
“That the said land be sold to Sarah Ruth Cooper, of Gisborne, widow, at a sum not less than the present Government valuation.”

Notice of Meeting of Owners under Part XVIII of the Native Land Act, 1909.
REGULATION No. 48.
THE Maori Land Board for the Tairawhiti Maori Land District hereby notifies that a meeting of the owners of Kauhuroa 4A Block is summoned and will be held, in pursuance of Part XVIII of the Native Land Act, 1909, at Wairoa on Wednesday, the 24th day of February, 1915, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of considering the following proposed resolutions:—
“That the said land be sold to Orton Cecil Taylor, of Frasertown, Sheepfarmer, at Government valuation; or, in the alternative,
“That a lease of the said land be granted to the above-named Orton Cecil Taylor for a term of forty-two years, at a rental of 5 per cent. on the present Government valuation, with a right to compensation for improvements.”

THE Maori Land Board for the Tairawhiti Maori Land District hereby notifies that a meeting of the owners of Te Reinga Block is summoned and will be held, in pursuance of Part XVIII of the Native Land Act, 1909, at Te Reinga on Tuesday, the 23rd day of February, 1915, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of considering the following proposed resolution:—
“That an offer made by the Crown to purchase the land, or any part thereof, shall be accepted.”

Maori Lands for Lease by Public Tender.

NOTICE is hereby given, in terms of the Native Land Act, 1909, and amendments, and the regulations thereunder, that written tenders are invited and will be received at the office of the Aotea District Maori Land Board, Wanganui, up to 2 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, 24th March, 1915, for the lease of the lands described in the First Schedule hereto, on the terms and conditions set out in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
LANDS FOR LEASE.
Taharua and Maruanui Survey Districts.—Parts Wharetoto Block.
SECTION A, 500 acres; Section B, 500 acres; Section 1, 7,658 acres; Section 3, 6,166 acres; Section 4, 1,740 acres; Section 5, 7,880 acres: Section 6, 13,513 acres 1 rood 23 perches; Section 7, 2,059 acres; Section 8, 6,240 acres; Section 9, 1,730 acres; Section 10, 825 acres; Section 11, 293 acres: total area, 49,104 acres 1 rood 32 perches: upset annual rental, £566, subject to reduction as hereunder noted. This area is situate on the Napier—Taupo Road at Rangitaiki. The land is high country, mostly pumice; elevation varies from 2,000 ft. to 4,000 ft. The improvements on the land are valued at £4,017. The incoming lessee will be required to give the Board a mortgage over the new lease for £4,017 (being the value of the improvements now existing on the land), bearing interest at 5 per cent. per annum, for the term of twenty-one years. The lessee will have the option of renewing the mortgage for a further term of twenty-one years at the same rate of interest. The lessee will have the right to pay off the mortgage or any part thereof at any time.
The lands, being rough and of poor quality, are being dealt with by the Board under the provisions of section 200 of the Native Land Act, 1909.
