———

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-first day of December, 1914.

Present:

The Right Honourable W. F. Massey, P.C., presiding in Council.

WHEREAS the Wanganui County Council lately proposed to raise a loan of two thousand pounds for the purpose of metalling portions of the Wanganui-Parapara-Raetihi Road and a portion of the Raupiu Road, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913:

And whereas the above proposal was duly submitted to a poll of the ratepayers of the Parapara Metalling Loan Special-rating Area on the twenty-fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen:

And whereas twenty-seven days intervened between the last publication of the notice of intention to raise the loan prescribed by section nine of the said Act and the date on which the above poll of the ratepayers was taken, instead of a period of not more than twenty-one days as required by section ten, subsection two, of the above-mentioned Act:

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby validate the said poll and all matters in relation thereto, and doth declare that the said poll shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though it had been taken within the time prescribed by the above-mentioned section ten, subsection two; and, further, doth hereby order and declare that the proceedings relative to such loan shall not be called in question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.
