Prohibiting all Private Alienation of certain Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-first day of December, 1914.

Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienations of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

Regulations for netting and taking Trout in Lake Hawea, Otago Acclimatization District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this seventh day of January, 1915.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council made under the Fisheries Act, 1908, dated the twenty-second day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 83 of the twenty-ninth day of the same month, regulations were made for the taking of trout by means of nets in Lake Hawea: And whereas by Order in Council made under the said Act, dated the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 131 of the third day of the same month, the regulations of the twenty-second day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eight, were revoked, and regulations authorizing the issue of licenses to fish for trout in the said lake by means of rod and line were made in lieu thereof: And whereas it is desirable to revoke the regulations made on the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and to make other regulations in lieu thereof:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said Fisheries Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the aforesaid regulations made on the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and doth hereby make the following regulations; and doth hereby declare that such regulations shall have effect on and in the waters of Lake Hawea in the Provincial District of Otago, hereinafter referred to as “the said lake.”

REGULATIONS.

  1. THE season for netting trout shall extend from the 1st day of November in any one year to the 30th day of April in the following year, both days inclusive.

  2. No net of a smaller size in the mesh than 7 in. in diameter when wetted and stretched for the taking of trout shall be used in any portion of the said lake.

  3. No person shall be permitted to use a net for the purpose of fishing therewith unless he holds a valid license so to fish issued by the Otago Acclimatization Society (hereinafter called “the society”).

  4. It shall be lawful for the holder of every license issued as aforesaid to use one net for the purpose of fishing for trout in the said lake.

  5. No person shall be permitted to use a net on any portion of the said lake other than the following :—
    All that area from a point one mile below the mouth of the Timaru Creek on the south-east side to a point one mile below the Long Valley Creek on the south-west side.
