FIRST SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 16 acres 2 roods 4 perches, more or less, being part of Lots Nos. 142 and 310, Square 85, Block XIV, Waiau Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Lot No. 14, Annan Settlement; towards the south-east by part of Lot No. 4, deposited plan No. 2161; and towards the north-west by Lot No. 14, Annan Settlement: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 19291/268, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 16 acres 2 roods, more or less, being part of Lot No. 14, Annan Settlement, Block XIV, Waiau Survey District. Bounded towards the east generally by Lot No. 4, deposited plan No. 2161; towards the west generally by the River Stanton; and towards the north by Reserve No. 3652: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 19291/268, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered yellow.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this thirtieth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

Lands reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the lands described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said lands should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereunder shall be scenic reserves under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.

SCHEDULE.

PIOPIO TEA SCENIC RESERVES.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 9 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section 6, Block II, Piopiotea West Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section 5, Block II, Piopiotea West Survey District, and a river-bank reserve, 870 links; towards the south-east generally by the Wanganui River; towards the south-west by the Wanganui River Road, 26·2 links; and towards the north-west by the said road, 798·2 links and 1359·9 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 733/1A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Also all that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 25 acres, more or less, being Section 7, Block III, Piopiotea West Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east generally by Section 3, Block III, Piopiotea West Survey District, and a river-bank reserve, 566·5 links, 505 links, 370·5 links, and 637·4 links; towards the south, south-east, and east generally by the Wanganui River; towards the south-west generally by a river-bank reserve and Section 5 of said block, 256·4 links, 805·6 links, 368·5 links, 534·8 links, and 494·7 links; and towards the north-west by the Wanganui River Road, 3223·1 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 733/1B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Also all that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 60 acres 2 roods, more or less. being Section 8, Block III, Piopiotea West Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east generally by Section 5, Block III, Piopiotea West Survey District, 3165 links; towards the south generally by the Wanganui River Road, 6035·2 links; and towards the north-west and north generally by Section 4 of said block, 5629·8 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 733/1C, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Also all that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 8 acres 2 roods, more or less. being Section 9, Block III, Piopiotea West Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east generally by the Wanganui River Road from its junction with the Otunui Road, 1253·9 links, 373·3 links, 771·6 links, and 319 links; by Section 3, Block III, Piopiotea West Survey District, and a river-bank reserve, 344·8 links; and towards the south-west generally by the Wanganui River: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 733/1D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Also all that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 11 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Section 2, Block IV, Piopiotea West Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east generally by the Wanganui River; towards the south-east by a river-bank reserve, 150 links; towards the south-west and west by Section 1, Block IV, Piopiotea West Survey District, 1541·6 links and 1852 links respectively; and towards the north-west by Section 1 aforesaid and a river-bank reserve, 368·7 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 733/1E, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Also all that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section 5, Block IV, Piopiotea West Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east generally by Section 3, Block IV, Piopiotea West Survey District, 656·2 links and 811·14 links; towards the south-east by Section 4 of said block, 505·1 links; towards the south-west generally by the Wanganui River; and towards the north-west by a river-bank reserve, 150 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 733/1F, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
