Lands in Wellington Land District for Lease by Public Tender.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 23rd December, 1914.
NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for leases
of the undermentioned lands will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 4 o’clock
p.m. on Wednesday, 24th February, 1915, under the pro-
visions of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and
the Land Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
RESERVE.
Eketahuna County.—Township of Newman.
SECTION 114: Area, 13 acres 1 rood 32 perches; upset
annual rent, £7; term, twenty-one years.
Situated on Cliff Road. Flat and easy land, in grass;
rather swampy on the flat portion; watered by a small stream.
CROWN LANDS.
Waitotara County.—Village of Mowhanau.
Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 73: Area, 6 acres and
17 perches; upset annual rent, £13; term, seven years.
Sections 15, 16, and 17: Area, 2 acres 2 roods 25 perches;
upset annual rent, £5 5s.; term, seven years.
Mowhanau Village is situated in the Kai-iwi Block, on the
sea-coast, about five miles from Wanganui. Flat and undu-
lating land, in grass. Soil sandy loam, on papa formation.
Horowhenua County.—Township of Levin.
Section 8, Block XIV: Area, 1 rood; upset annual rent,
£2 7s.; term, ten years.
Section 16, Block XVI: Area, 1 rood; upset annual rent,
£2; term, ten years.
Section 18, Block XVI: Area, 1 rood; upset annual rent,
£2; term, ten years.
Section 8 is distant about 30 chains and the other sections
20 chains from the post-office by metalled street. Easy
sloping or level land, in grass, with soil of first-class quality.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

Tenders must be accompanied by marked cheque or
post-office order for six months’ rent at the rate offered,
together with £1 1s. lease fee. -
There are no restrictions or limitations as to the number
of sections which one person may lease, and no declaration
is required. Residence and improvements are not compulsory.
No compensation shall be claimed by the lessee, nor shall any
be allowed by the Government, on account of any improve-
ments effected by the lessee, nor for any other cause. -
Possession will be given on the day of acceptance of
tender. -
The leases shall be for the term specified.

The rent shall be paid half-yearly in advance.

The lessee shall have no right to sublet, transfer, or
otherwise dispose of the land comprised in the lease, without
the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands. -
The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse,
broom, and sweetbrier on the land comprised in the lease;
and he shall with all reasonable despatch remove, or cause
to be removed, all gorse, sweetbrier, broom, or other noxious
weeds or plants, as may be directed by the Commissioner of
Crown Lands. -
The lease shall be liable to forfeiture in case the lessee
fails to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease within
thirty days after the date on which the same ought to be
fulfilled.

Village-homestead Allotments in Otago Land District open for
Selection on Renewable Lease.

Dunedin, 23rd December, 1914.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned village-
homestead allotments will be open for selection on
renewable lease at this office on Tuesday, 9th March, 1915,
under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—VILLAGE-HOMESTEAD ALLOTMENTS.
Lake County.—Town of Arrowtown Extension.
SECTION 2, Block XXXV: Area, 4 acres 2 roods 38 perches;
capital value, £15; half-yearly rent, 6s.
Weighted with £20, valuation for two-roomed house.
Situated in the Borough of Arrowtown, about three miles
from the post-office. Good road access. More than half the
area is good land; balance poor and stony. Soil a light loam,
on schist formation; not well watered.
Tuapeka County.—Greenvale Survey District.

Section 58, Block IV: Area, 2 acres 3 roods 39 perches;
capital value, £40; half-yearly rent, 16s. -
National endowment land.
Situated on the outskirts of Heriot Township, about half
a mile from railway-station, post-office, and school. Undu-
lating land of good quality. Soil black loam, on clay forma-
tion. There is a good road from Heriot.

for Selection on Renewable Lease.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land is
open for selection on renewable lease, under the pro-
visions of the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements
Act, 1908, and amendments; and applications will be received
at this office and at the local Lands and Survey Office, Timaru,
on Saturday, 20th March, 1915, up to 12 o’clock noon.
SCHEDULE.
COPLAND SETTLEMENT.—WAIMATE COUNTY.—OTAIO SURVEY
DISTRICT.
First-class Land.
SECTION 1*: Area, 312 acres 3 roods 20 perches; rent per
acre per annum (approximate), 13s. 1d.; half-yearly rent,
£102 3s. 6d.
Section 2: Area, 297 acres 3 roods 30 perches; rent
per acre per annum (approximate), 11s.; half-yearly rent,
£82 16s. 6d.
- Weighted with interest and sinking fund on house, out-
buildings, wool-shed, stable, pigstye, men’s hut, fowl-house,
and sheep-yards, valued at £775; to be paid for in cash or in
twenty-one years by forty-two half-yearly instalments of
£30 4s. 6d.
DESCRIPTION OF SECTIONS.
Section 1.—Homestead block. All level or undulating
agricultural land of good quality, on clay subsoil. Altitude,
500 ft. to 700 ft. The frontage is well watered by a stream.
Eleven miles from St. Andrew’s Railway-station by good road.
Section 2.—All level or undulating agricultural land of good
quality, on clay subsoil. Altitude, from 600 ft. to 700 ft.
Watered by a small stream, which is dry in summer; but
water can be conserved by dams. Nine miles from Otaio
Railway-station by good road.
IMPROVEMENTS.
The improvements that go with the sections are: Section 1—
408 chains of fencing, valued at £122 7s. Section 2—
357 chains of fencing, valued at £107 11s.

Public Auction.

Blenheim, 17th December, 1914.
NOTICE is hereby given that Pastoral Runs Nos. 121
and 121A, described in the Schedule hereto, will be
offered for license by public auction for a term of twenty-
one years, at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim,
at 11 o’clock a.m. on Friday, 26th February, 1915, under the
provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and its amendments.
