two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices
of the Peace Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that

being a person holding the office of Postmaster under the
Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at Okahukura, is authorized
to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-
hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the
Peace Act, 1908.

appointment of an officer of the Staff and appointment and
attachment of an officer to the Territorial Force:—

Major Charles Monk Gibbon, Imperial General Staff, to be
Chief of the General Staff, temporarily, during the period of
employment of Lieutenant-Colonel William Garnett Braith-
waite, D.S.O., Imperial-General Staff, with the New Zealand
Expeditionary Force, and is granted the temporary rank
of Lieutenant-Colonel while so employed.

be attached to the General Staff at Headquarters, and to
the New Zealand Staff Corps while so employed.

Special Orders made by the Manukau County Council altering
Boundaries of the Paparoa, Pakuranga, and Howick Township
Road Districts.

THE following special orders, made by the Manukau
County Council, are published in accordance with the
provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

In exercise of the powers conferred on it by sections 9 and 10
of the Road Boards Act, 1908, the Manukau County Council,
on petition as required by section 9, and with the consent of
the Paparoa Road Board, and on the application of such
Board as required by section 10, but subject to the conditions
(a) and (b) of said section 10, resolves, by way of special order,
as follows:—
-
On and after the 30th day of September, 1914, the
Paparoa Road District shall be altered by excluding therefrom
the land described in the First Schedule hereto. -
The boundaries of the said district as so altered shall be
as described in the Second Schedule hereto.
