BREAKWATER EXTENSION WORKS.—WARRNAMBOOL HAR-
BOUR.—Mariners and others are hereby notified that, in
connection with the work of extending the Breakwater
Pier, divers will from time to time be engaged working for
a distance of about 100 ft. from the outer end of such break-
water.

Mariners are therefore warned to be on the lookout for any
floating plant that may be moored off the outer end of the
breakwater, and are cautioned to avoid same by giving the
outer end of the breakwater a wide berth.

As the jib and gear of the "Titan" crane stationed on the
breakwater, and used for handling the concrete blocks, may,
when swung out, project about 80 ft. from the pier, mariners
are also warned to ascertain the position of such jib when
berthing at or leaving the pier.

HOPETOUN CHANNEL.—PORT OF GEELONG.—Mariners and
others are hereby notified that the dredger "George Ward
Cole" will, on or about the 1st of July proximo, commence
dredging in Hopetoun Channel, about 400 ft. east of No. 3
beacon, and will work to west.

The usual signals will be exhibited—viz., during daytime
a ball, and during night-time two (2) red lights in a vertical
position not less than six (6) feet apart, and an anchor light
at stem and stern.

Should the electric lights which will be in use during
operations at night harass navigation of the channel such
lights will be turned off upon a prolonged blast of the steam
whistle being given on the vessel the navigation of which may
be impeded.

Caution.—Those in charge of vessels navigating the channel
must exercise the utmost caution when approaching the
dredger, and engines must be stopped when passing over
the chains.

HUMMOCKS) ISLANDS.—Referring to Notice to Mariners No. 10
