I therefore declare the proposal carried.

WESTPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Loan of £28,500 over the Whole Borough.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.
I HEREBY give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Westport taken on the 12th day of August, 1914, on the proposal of the Westport Borough Council to borrow the sum of £28,500 for the construction of sanitary works—viz., a sewerage scheme—the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 467, the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 311; informal, 18.
I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

THE following is the result of the poll taken on the above proposal on Wednesday, the 29th July, 1914 : For the proposal, 67 ; against the proposal, 47 ; informal, 1.
As a three-fifths majority is required, the proposal is therefore declared not carried.

Consent under Section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909.
IN pursuance of the power conferred upon the Native Minister by subsection (b) of section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909, I, William Herbert Herries, Native Minister, acting on the recommendation of the Waiariki District Maori Land Board, do hereby consent to a lease of Rangitaiki Lot 30D Block, containing 34 acres 3 roods 24 perches, situated in the Provincial District of Auckland, subject to the same restrictions and to the same requirements as to confirmation and otherwise as if the land was not subject to Part XVI of the Native Land Act, 1909.
