sixteenth, the Featherston County Council to bear seven-sixteenths, the Greytown Borough Council to bear one-sixteenth of such cost respectively.

And I do also direct that any contribution hereby required to be made by the Carterton and Greytown Borough Councils and the Featherston County Council shall be paid from time to time by the said Borough Councils and County Council to the Clerk of the Wairarapa South County Council, for and on account of the said Borough Councils and the Featherston County Council.

And in further pursuance and exercise of the powers aforementioned and of the powers conferred on me by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1913, I do hereby declare that the amounts which the Wairarapa South County Council, the Featherston County Council, the Carterton Borough Council, and the Greytown Borough Council shall be and are respectively authorized to borrow by special order without taking any poll of the ratepayers thereon for the purpose of the execution of the work described in the Schedule hereto shall be as under: The Wairarapa South County Council, two thousand pounds; the Featherston County Council, two thousand pounds; the Carterton Borough Council, three hundred pounds; the Greytown Borough Council, three hundred pounds.

SCHEDULE.

THAT bridge over the Waiohine River on the main road between Greytown and Carterton, and known as the Waiohine Bridge; as the site of the said bridge is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 35931,

deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon shown in red colour.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fourth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

Pursuant to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

Amendments to the Regulations made by the Public Service Commissioner for the Examination of Draughtsmen, Lands and Survey Department.

IN pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred on him by the Public Service Act, 1912 (hereinafter called "the said Act"), the Commissioner, with the approval of the Governor in Council, doth hereby, in respect of the regulations relating to the examination of draughtsmen for a certificate of competency made under the said Act on the twenty-fifth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, make the amendments shown in the Schedule hereto.

Such amendments shall have effect from and after the date of publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

REGULATION No. 4 is hereby amended by adding the words "(H.) Projection of maps. Maximum marks, 30."

Regulation No. 6 is amended by adding the sentence, "Each candidate that passes in all of the subjects at one examination and in addition obtains at least 70 per cent. of the total possible maximum of marks in the subject '(H.) Projection of maps,' shall be entitled to have his certificate of competency endorsed 'Passed also in map-projection.'"
