Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said land should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be a scenic reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.
SCHEDULE.
CASS PEAK (SUMMIT ROAD).
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 3 roods 32 perches, more or less, being part of Rural Section No. 1403, and now known as Reserve No. 3921, Block VII, Halswell Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by a public road, 167·6 links, 176·3 links, 144·3 links, 44·8 links, 365·5 links, and 201·7 links; towards the south-east generally by right lines, 127·6 links and 515·8 links; towards the south-west by right lines, 297·4 links and 498·8 links; and towards the north-west by a right line, 988 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. IV/22, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twentieth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

AHURIRI BUSH (SUMMIT ROAD).
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 26 acres 3 roods 28 perches, more or less, being Reserve 3948, situated in Block VII, Halswell Survey District, and being parts of Rural Sections 1182, 1183, 33950, and 33951, commencing at a point on the ridge of the Port Hills, the same being Trigonometrical Station Q (Cooper's Knob); thence south-westerly bearing 235° 36′, 790·3 links; thence south-easterly bearing 158° 34′, 55·4 links, 163° 26′, 316·1 links, and 173° 27′, 779·7 links; thence south-westerly bearing 201° 22′ 30″, 250·1 links, 209° 32′, 257 links, and 203° 21′ 43″, 2009·7 links; thence south-easterly bearing 113° 23′, 494·3 links; and easterly 91° 18′, 766·5 links to the ridge of the Port Hills; thence northerly along the said ridge to the commencing-point: save and excepting thereout a line of road which is included in the above-described boundaries: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 741/12, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.
