Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be a scenic reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.

SCHEDULE.

KAIIPII SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 91 acres 3 roods 27 perches, more or less, being Section 1, Block XV, Paterson Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Native Reserve 191, the crossing of a road 1 chain wide, and again by said Native reserve, 3721·5 links; towards the east by Section 151, the crossing of a road 1 chain wide, and Section 150, Block I, Paterson Survey District, 5007·7 links; towards the south generally by a chain reserve along the Paterson Inlet; and towards the west generally by a chain reserve along the Paterson Inlet and Sawmill Bay: excepting a road 100 links wide intersecting the above-described land: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 685/12, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eighteenth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the lands described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said lands should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereunder shall be scenic reserves under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.

TA-KERE-HAKA SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 418 acres, more or less, being Section 1, Block X, Kingston Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Crown land, 4095·1 links; towards the south-east by Lake Wakatipu, a railway reserve, Jetty Street, and Monmouth Street, Town of Kingston, 9650 links, 498·4 links, 684·8 links, 370·1 links, 1217·4 links, and 1517·1 links; towards the south-west by Section 8, Block I, Kingston Survey District, 2467·9 links; and towards the north-west by Crown land, 3412·8 links, 3281·4 links, and 4668·6 links; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 54019/13A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

GLEN ALLEN SCENIC RESERVE.

All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2,470 acres 2 roods 27 perches, more or less, being Sections 2, Block V, and 2, Block X, Kingston Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Crown land, 13887·2 links; towards the east by Crown land, 12621 links and 5299·1 links; towards the south-east by a road, 442·5 links, 696·1 links, 607·1 links, 2031·2 links, and 2421·1 links; towards the south-west, north, and again towards the south-west by Crown land, 4978·2 links, 5557·4 links, 9537·7 links, 8047·2 links, and 16133·3 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 54019/13B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 28 acres 2 roods 4 perches, more or less, being Section 1, Block V, Pohui Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west generally by the Mohaka River; towards the east by Pastoral Run No. 11, the abutment of a public road, and again by said pastoral run for a distance of 1438 links; towards the south-east by aforesaid Pastoral Run No. 11 for a distance of 2366·3 links; and towards the south-west by aforesaid Pastoral Run No. 11 for a distance of 1012·3 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 468/11, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
