HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, transfers, and resignations of the undermentioned officers of the Territorial Force :—
9th (Hawke’s Bay) Regiment.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants resign their commissions :—
Atholl Courtenay Forbes. Dated 8th April, 1914.
Alexander Whitelaw Lafferty. Dated 18th April, 1914.
10th (North Otago) Regiment.
Quartermaster and Lieutenant Charles Jeremiah Marshall resigns his commission. Dated 21st May, 1914.
11th Regiment (Taranaki Rifles).
Quartermaster and Captain Frederick William Okey resigns his commission. Dated 29th June, 1914.
12th (Nelson) Regiment.
Lieutenant George Cruickshank Griffiths to be Captain, supernumerary to establishment. Dated 19th August, 1913.
13th (North Canterbury and Westland) Regiment.
Lieutenant Duncan Buchanan Macfarlane to be Captain to complete establishment. Dated 3rd January, 1914.

Award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers’ Decoration.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the award of a Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers’ Decoration to
Lieutenant-Colonel JOHN MACKINTOSH ROBERTS, N.Z.C.,
Retired List,
he having a total commissioned service to the 31st August, 1903, entitling him thereto of twenty-four years and sixty days.

Notice respecting Proposed Town District, Mercer, County of Franklin.
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 4th August, 1914.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a town district under the said Act, by name the Town District of Mercer. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the constitution of the said town district which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF PROPOSED TOWN DISTRICT OF MERCER.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the Mangatawhiri Stream in line with the southern boundary of Allotment No. 107, Kohoroa Parish; thence to and along that boundary, the southern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 108 and 109 and part of the western boundary of Allotment No. 111, along the north-western and south-western boundaries of Allotment No. 57 and the north-western side of the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Allotment No. 58 to the southernmost corner of that allotment; thence across a road and along the south-western boundary of Allotment No. 60, Kohoroa Parish, the north-western boundary of Allotment No. 100, and the north-western and south-western boundaries of Allotment No. 143, along the north-western side of the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Allotment No. 144, Kohoroa Parish, across a road to the northernmost corner of Lot No. 16 of Mercer Suburban Lots, and along the western side of the road forming the eastern boundaries of Lots Nos. 16 and 17 and the northern side of the road forming the southern boundary of Lot No. 17 to the south-western corner of that lot; thence along a right line across the Waikato River to a point on its left bank in line with the south-eastern boundary of Allotment No. 93, Onewhero Parish; thence along the left bank of that river to the northernmost corner of Allotment No. 60, Onewhero Parish; thence along a right line across the Waikato River to a point on its right bank in line with the south-eastern boundary of Allotment No. 136, Kohoroa Parish; thence along the right bank of that river to the Mangatawhiri Stream, and along the left bank of that stream to the place of commencement.

Special Order made by the Cook County Council merging Aroha Road District.

THE following special order, made by the Cook County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913.

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.
A Special Order made by the Cook County Council at a Special Meeting held on Friday, 19th June, 1914.
RESOLVED, That, in accordance with the prayer of a petition of a majority of the ratepayers of the Aroha Road District, in the County of Cook, who possess more than one-half of the rateable property in the Aroha Road District, this Council hereby declares that the said road district shall be merged into the County of Cook, and the Board of that district shall be dissolved. This special order to come into force on the 1st August, 1914; or if gazetted, then upon the gazetting thereof.
This special order was confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council held on the 17th day of July, 1914.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Cook was hereto affixed in the presence of—
