Education Board of the District of Nelson.—Election of Member to fill Extraordinary Vacancy.

IN accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1908, it is hereby notified that WILLIAM CHARLES BAIGENT, Esq., has been elected a member of the Nelson Education Board, representing the Middle Ward, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of L. D. Easton, Esq.

Applications invited for the Position of Farm Overseer, Boys’ Training-farm, Weraroa.

  1. APPLICATIONS will be received by the undersigned up till noon on the 25th July, 1914, from officers of the Public Service, for the position of Farm Overseer, Boys’ Training-farm, Weraroa.

  2. Applications must be made on forms obtainable from the Permanent Head of the Education Department or from this office.

  3. Applicants must—
    (a.) Have a thorough knowledge of farming in all its branches;
    (b.) Have ability to control and instruct boys in modern farming methods;
    (c.) Be of a thoroughly good moral character, sober, and even-tempered.

  4. The successful applicant would be a working overseer, and would be required to perform a certain amount of supervision duty in addition to his duties on the farm.

  5. The position will be graded in the General Division. Salary to commence, £160 per annum, and keep; maximum, £175.
