Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Whatapaka Domain.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this seventh day of July, 1914.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke an Order in Council dated the ninth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nine, appointing the Mauku Road Board a Domain Board to have control of the Whatapaka Domain; and doth hereby appoint

to be the Whatapaka Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Thursday, the sixth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, at twelve o’clock noon, as the time when, and the Franklin County Council Office, Pukekohe, as the place where, the first meeting of the said Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

WHATAPAKA DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing 123 acres 2 roods, more or less, being southern portion of Allotment 56, Waiau Parish. Bounded towards the north-east by a public road and Allotment 2, Waiau Parish, 4212 links; towards the south-east by north-west portion of Allotment 55 of the aforesaid parish, 4655 links; and towards the west and north-west generally by the Whatapaka Inlet and a stream: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. I/189A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland Plan 3119B, blue.)

to be the Waitotara Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the tenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, at 2 o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Patea County Council Office, Patea, as the place where, the first meeting of the said Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

WAITOTARA DOMAIN.

ALL that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 roods, more or less, being Sections Nos. 154, 155, 156, Town of Waitotara. Bounded towards the north-west and north-east by Section No. 297,

Block XII, Wairoa Survey District, 375 links and 200 links; towards the south-east by Trent Street, 375 links; and towards the south-west by Section No. 153, 200 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and S. I/523A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

License authorizing the Wanganui Borough Council to erect Electric Lines from Taupo Quay to the New Zealand Express Company’s Buildings in Nixon Place, Wanganui.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this seventh day of July, 1914.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section two of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, it is provided that no person shall lay, construct, put up, place, or use any electric line except under the authority of a license issued to him by the Governor in Council under that Act:

And whereas the Wanganui Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”) desires to erect electric lines from a point on Taupo Quay situated 26 chains from the power-house to the premises of the New Zealand Express Company in Nixon Place, a distance of 10 chains, all in the Borough of Wanganui (hereinafter referred to as “the said electric lines”), and it is expedient accordingly to issue a license in respect thereof under the said section:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the said section, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth, subject to the conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto, hereby authorize the licensee to erect and maintain for lighting and power purposes the said electric lines, as indicated by a red line on the plan marked P.W.D. 35671, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

SCHEDULE.

CONDITIONS.

  1. THE power supplied shall not exceed 9 kilowatts.

  2. The supply shall be given by means of rubber-insulated copper conductors of 600-megohm grade, of 7/16 S.W.G. section, and suspended on efficient insulators at a minimum height of 18 ft. from the ground.

  3. The positive line shall be provided at the point where it connects with the tramway bus bars with a switch and fuse or circuit-breaker adjusted to open the circuit at an overload of 50 per cent., and with a time limit not exceeding ten seconds.

  4. The negative line shall be bonded direct to the tramway-rails, without switch or other means of opening the circuit.

  5. A suitable safety fuse or other automatic circuit-breaker shall be inserted on the consumer’s premises as close as possible to the point of entry and contained within a suitable locked or sealed receptacle of fire-proof construction.

  6. All electric wires placed on the consumer’s premises shall be insulated with rubber of 600-megohm grade, and shall be thoroughly protected against injury to the insulation or access of moisture.

  7. At telegraph crossings the conductors shall pass over or under telegraph or telephone wires as may be decided by the Minister of Telegraphs. At places where it may be deemed necessary by the Minister of Telegraphs as a protection to telegraph or telephone wires generally, approved guard-wires, effectively earthed, shall be erected by or at the cost of the licensee. Such guard-wires shall be carried on substantial supports at a height of 2 ft. above the conductors if the telegraph or telephone wires pass over the conductors, or 2 ft. above the telegraph or telephone wires if the latter pass under the conductors.

  8. Earth-wires where led down poles shall be protected by a casing for a distance of 8 ft. from the ground. A test shall be made every three months, and oftener if required, of all earths to ensure that the earth-wire is intact and that the earth is effective.
