FIRST SCHEDULE.

WAIMATUKU RIVER DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District bounded towards
the north-east generally by Section No. 79, Oreti Hundred,
from the northernmost corner of Section No. 70 to the road
intersecting that section ; thence across that road, by the road
forming the south-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 151,
152, 159, and forming the southern boundaries of Sections
Nos. 158, 157, and 156 to the north-eastern corner of Sec-
tion No. 161, Oreti Hundred; thence towards the east gene-
rally by the road forming the western boundaries of Sections
Nos. 80, 86, 89, 90, 91, and 94, the northern and western
boundaries of Section No. 183, and the western boundary of
Section No. 182, Oreti Hundred; thence across a road and
by the road forming the northern boundary of Section No. 54,
Block XX, New River Hundred, to the north-eastern corner
of that section; thence by Sections Nos. 2, 39, and 42, to
Middle Creek, and by that creek to the south-western corner
of Section No. 41, Block XX aforesaid; thence by that sec-
tion to the road at its south-western corner; thence by the
road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 25
and 46, Block XX aforesaid, and Sections Nos. 47 and 55A,
Block XXII, New River Hundred, to the easternmost corner
of the last-mentioned section; thence by Section No. 20,
Block XXII aforesaid, to the road which intersects that
section, across and by that road and the road forming the
western boundaries of Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, Block XI,
New River Hundred, the road forming the southern boundaries
of Sections Nos. 5, 6, and 7, and the road forming part of the
eastern boundary of Section No. 12 to the north-western
corner of Section No. 13, Block XI aforesaid; thence by that
section, Section No 14, the road forming the south-eastern
boundary of Section No. 18, across a road, by Section No. 32,
the road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Sections
Nos. 47A and 47, Block XI aforesaid, and intersecting Sec-
tions Nos. 11 and 12, Block XII, to the south-western boundary
of the last-mentioned section; thence by that section to its
easternmost corner, by the road forming the eastern boundary
of Section No. 23, Block XIX, New River Hundred, by Sec-
tions Nos. 22, 19, 18, 8, 4A, and the north-western boundary
Waimatuku River District, Counties of Southland and
Wallace constituted.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the River Boards Act, 1908 (herein-
after termed “the said Act”), as amended by the River
Boards Amendment Act, 1913, I, Arthur William de Brito
Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and
after the date hereof, that part of the said Dominion described
in the First Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby
constituted a district under the said Act, and shall be known
by the name of the Waimatuku River District; and that the
said district shall be divided into three subdivisions, to be
called the Upper Subdivision, the Middle Subdivision, and
the Lower Subdivision, the boundaries whereof shall be those
described in the Second Schedule hereto; and, further, that
the number of members who are to constitute the Board of
the said district shall be nine, and that three members shall
be elected for the Upper Subdivision, three members for the
Middle Subdivision, and three members for the Lower Sub-
division.

And I do also proclaim and declare that John Fisher, of
Otautau, shall be the Returning Officer to conduct the first
elections of each subdivision of the aforesaid district; that
Wednesday, the twenty-second day of July, one thousand nine
hundred and fourteen, shall be the day for holding such
first elections; and that Monday, the twenty-seventh day of
July, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, at eight
o'clock in the afternoon, shall be the time, and the residence
of Mr. Alexander McKenzie, Mains of Blair, Otahuti, shall be
the place, at which the first meeting of the members of the
Board of the said river district shall be held.

And, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the aforesaid
John Fisher shall be the person to make a roll of electors for
the purposes of the aforesaid first elections, in the manner
prescribed by section eight of the said Act.
