Weighted with £122 7s. 6d. for house of four rooms and lean-to, two-roomed cottage on skids, and fencing.
A flat stony section, covered with fern, tussock, scrub, and grass; occasionally flooded. About six miles and a quarter from Kaikoura by good road.
Section 61, Block V: Area, 53 acres 3 roods; upset price, £430.
Weighted with £129 10s. for house of two rooms and lean-to, shed, and fencing.

Opening Settlement Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Thursday, the twenty-third day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—WAIMATE COUNTY.—ELEPHANT HILL SURVEY DISTRICT.—DOUGLAS SETTLEMENT.
First-class Land.
SECTION 11, Block IV: Area, 5 acres; rent per acre per annum, 19s. 10d.; half-yearly rental, £2 9s. 6d. Weighted with £7 5s., valuation for fencing.
Section 15, Block IV: Area, 5 acres; rent per acre per annum, 19s. 10d.; half-yearly rental, £2 9s. 6d. Weighted with £10, valuation for fencing.
The improvements which go with the sections comprise: Section 11—5 chains boundary fencing, valued at £2 10s. Section 15—15 chains of boundary and subdivision fencing, valued at £7 10s.

Opening Lands in Marlborough Land District for Sale or Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the seventeenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

IMPROVEMENTS.
The sections are weighted for improvements as under: Section 62—£39 18s., valuation for fencing, drains, and grubbing. Section 65—£409 12s. 3d., valuation for seven-roomed house, trap-shed, stable and cow-shed combined, dairy and small shed, garden and trees, water-supply to house, fowl-run, and boundary and subdivisional fences. Section 66—£219 10s. 6d., valuation for four-roomed house, whare, trap-shed, dairy, orchard, garden, ditching, and fences. Section 67—£164 16s. 3d., valuation for bakehouse and whare, stable and trap-shed, old stable and chaff-house, and fences. Part Section 68—£119 11s. 6d., valuation for cottage, whare, cow-shed, and fencing. Section 69—£154 4s., valuation for house, whare, sheds, and fencing. Section 70—£65 15s., valuation for house, old slaughterhouse, clearing, and fences.
DESCRIPTION OF SECTIONS.
