VI/6 (6), deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged purple. (Auckland Plan, 17128/2.) As a site for a public school.
Also all that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being Sections 27 and 28, Suburbs of Ohura, Block V, Ohura Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Kuku Street, 400 links; towards the south-east by Kereru Road, 629·53 links; towards the south-west by Section 26, Ohura Suburban, 637·1 links; and towards the north and north-west by Section 34 (Crown land), 104·78 links, and Section 35 (recreation reserve) 500·3 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1913/1238, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. As a site for a public school.
Also all that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 121 acres, more or less, being Section 10, Block VIII, Matiri Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by the road along the left bank of the Owen River; towards the north-east by the road along the left bank of Maggie’s Creek; towards the south-east generally by Section 18, Block VIII, Matiri Survey District; and towards the south-west generally by Section 19 of the said block: excepting the road, 1 chain wide, which intersects the land included within the above-described boundaries: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 5466/6, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. As an endowment for primary education.
Also all that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 146 acres 3 roods 31 perches, more or less, being Section 2, Block VI, Woodland Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Block V, Woodland Survey District, 2684 links; towards the north-east by Section 28 of Block VI aforesaid, 3873 links; towards the south by Section 3 of said Block VI, 4218 links; thence towards the south-west and south-east by a road-line, 2958 links; and thence towards the north-west generally by a road-line, 7623 links, to point of commencement: excepting out of the said boundaries the land taken for the purposes of the Catlin’s-Waimahaka Railway: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1913/1146, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For the growth and preservation of timber.

Opening Settlement Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Thursday, the twenty-third day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

The improvements included in the price of the sections consist of about 77 chains of fencing, valued at £38 10s. Situated in the Scargill Settlement, one mile from Scargill Railway-station. All flat agricultural land.

Appointing a Member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS it is provided by section seventeen of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910, that the office of any member of a Harbour Board shall become vacant if, inter alia, he resigns his office by writing under his hand delivered to the Secretary or Chairman of the Board:
And whereas it is provided by subsection two of section eighteen of the said Act that when an elective member, other than a representative of a constituent district, vacates his office on the Board through the operation of the said section seventeen, the Governor may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place:
And whereas John Lambie, an elective member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board, being a representative of the combined district of the County of Ashburton and the Borough of Ashburton, has resigned his office as a member of the Board, and it is desirable to appoint a qualified person as a representative of that district in his place:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint

to be a member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board as a representative of the Combined District of the County of Ashburton and the Borough of Ashburton, in the place of John Lambie, resigned.

were appointed to be a Commission to inspect and classify the kauri-gum reserves in the Land District of Auckland, and you were directed and required to report to me, on or before the twenty-ninth day of April then next ensuing, the result of your inspection and classification:
And whereas you did not furnish a report within the time specified:
And whereas the time within which you were required to report was extended to the twenty-ninth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen:
And whereas it is expedient that the said period should be further extended as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, and all other powers and authorities enabling me in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby extend the period within which you are required to report until twenty-seventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.
