Palmerston North Police-gaol to cease to be a Police-gaol.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Prisons Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette, declare that any prison or police-gaol shall no longer be a prison or police-gaol; and upon the gazetting of such Proclamation, or from and after any later date fixed in such Proclamation for the purpose, such prison or police-gaol shall cease to be a prison or police-gaol:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare that from and after the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, the police-gaol at Palmerston North, in the Provincial District of Wellington, shall cease to be a police-gaol.
(Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

Consenting to Land being taken for the Purposes of a Post-office in Block VI, Town of Arrowtown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourth day of May, 1914.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, in section fifteen thereof, inter alia, enacted that, except for the purposes of a railway or defence purposes, or for the purposes of any other work to be made under the authority of a special Act, nothing in this Act contained shall authorize the taking of any land occupied by any building, yard, garden, or vineyard, or in bona fide occupation as an ornamental park or pleasure-ground, without the previous consent of the Governor in Council:
And whereas part of the land described in the Schedule hereto is occupied by a building, and the Minister of Public Works has recommended the Governor to issue an Order in Council under the said Act consenting to the taking of the said land for the purposes of a post-office in Block VI, Town of Arrowtown:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the land described in the Schedule hereto being taken for the purposes above mentioned.

Declaring Portion of the Makaretu Block Road, in the Waipawa County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourth day of May, 1914.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of the Makaretu Block Road, in the Hawke's Bay Land District, Waipawa County, commencing at a point in the south-eastern corner of Section 2, Block VII, Makaretu Survey District, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction generally, adjoining or passing through Section 3, Block VII, and Section 1, Block I, Makaretu Survey District; thence in a south-westerly direction generally, adjoining or passing through Sections 3 and 4 (E.R.), Block I, Sections 2 and 6, Block II, and Section 1, Block VIII, Makaretu Survey District, and terminating at a point on the southern boundary of the said Section 1, Block VIII, Makaretu Survey District; being a distance of 5 miles 18 chains, more or less: as the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 35185, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red and marked A B.

ALL that portion of road in the Auckland Land District, Raglan County, known as the Waitetuna-Whatawhata Deviation, commencing at its junction with a road in Section 201, Karamu Parish, Block III, Alexandra Survey District, and proceeding thence in a westerly direction generally adjoining or passing through the said Section 201, Sections 72, 8, 9, 10, 11, 1, and 33, Karamu Parish, Block III, Section 34, Karamu Parish, Blocks III and II, Sections 37, 47, and 48, Karamu Parish, Block II, Alexandra Survey District, and terminating at a point on the boundary between Sections 48 and 49, Karamu Parish, Block II, Alexandra Survey District, being a distance of four miles or thereabouts, as the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 35402, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red and marked A B.
