Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-law.—Franklin County Council.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 2nd May, 1914.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 107 of the Counties Act, 1908, that so much of the by-laws made by the Franklin County Council on the 5th day of March, 1914, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Franklin County funds for the licensing of vehicles has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor.

Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-law.—Grey County Council.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 107 of the Counties Act, 1908, that so much of the by-laws made by the Grey County Council on the 25th day of February, 1914, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Grey County funds for the licensing of vehicles has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor.

Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds by the Takapuna Borough Council.—Notice No. 1736.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Takapuna Borough Council has, by special order, declared gorse and Bathurst burr to be noxious weeds within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the district under its jurisdiction.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Onehunga Borough Council has, by special order, declared the following plants to be noxious weeds within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the district under its jurisdiction :—

African box-thorn.
Bathurst burr.
Broom.
Burdock.

Cape weed.
Dock.
Elderberry.
Fennel.
Foxglove.
Giant burdock.
Gorse.
Hakea.
Hemlock.
Kangaroo acacia.
Lupin.
Ox-eye daisy.
Penny cress or Canadian stink-weed.
Pennyroyal.
Periwinkle.
St. John’s wort.
Tauhinu, or New Zealand cotton-wood.
Thistles: Any species of Carlina (stemless thistle), Carduus (common plume or Scotch thistle), Cnicus (woolley-headed thistle), Centaurea (star thistle), Silybum (milk thistle).
Tutsan.
Viper’s bugloss.
Wild borage.
Wild turnip.
Winged thistle.

Change of the Official Name of a Government Industrial School.

Education Department,
Wellington, 6th May, 1914.

WHEREAS it is desirable to change the official name of the Boys’ Industrial School, Stoke :

Now, therefore, by virtue of the power vested in me by sections 4 and 14 of the Industrial Schools Act, 1908, I, James Allen, Minister of Education, do hereby notify that from and after this date the said Boys’ Industrial School, Stoke, is abolished, and is now established, and will in future be carried on as a Government Industrial School within the meaning of the said Act, under the official name of “The Boys’ Training Farm, Nelson.”

Transmitting and Receiving Officers for Service of Notices by Telegraph.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and by the regulations made on the 25th March, 1895, and the 13th June, 1904, under the Electric Lines Act, 1884, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 4th April, 1895, and the 16th June, 1904, respectively, the following officers, at the addresses set against their names, are hereby appointed Transmitting and Receiving Officers for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorized to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid :—

BREBNER, FREDERICK, Postmaster, Port Chalmers.
