Soil of good quality, on sandstone formation ; well watered by small streams. Fronts main Broadwood–Herekino Road, about seven miles from Broadwood and six miles from Herekino.

Opening Settlement Land in Auckland Land District for Selection.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-seventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule ; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—OTAMATEA COUNTY.—MATAKOHE SURVEY DISTRICT.—BICKERSTAFFE SETTLEMENT.

Pastoral country, mostly ploughable. Soil partly light and partly clay, on limestone formation ; permanent water. About 80 acres grass ; balance light to heavy manuka. Inside partly fenced. Four miles and a half from Whakapirau by formed road, three miles and a half being metalled ; access also by Ford Road, five miles to Whakapirau, four miles metalled. The improvements included in the capital value consist of 80 chains of boundary and 170 chains of internal and road fencing, the whole valued at £131.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this second day of May, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-seventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen ; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease ; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Soil semi-volcanic and clay of fair quality, on clay subsoil ; well watered by small stream. Distant three miles from Rangiahua Post-office by partly formed 8 ft. road.

Hokianga County.—Punakitere Survey District.

Soil sandy clay of a rubbly and stony nature, on sandstone formation ; well watered by streams. Distant seventeen miles from Kaikohe, fifteen miles and a half of which is by rough formed cart-road ; balance unformed, but access for packhorses can be obtained by tracks through Section 2 adjoining.

Whangaroa County.—Kohumaru Parish.

Soil sandy clay of good quality, on sandstone formation ; well watered by stream. Distant ten miles from Totara North, four miles of which is by formed cart-road, five miles rough bridle-track, and one mile unformed and impassable at present.

Bay of Islands County.—Omapere Survey District.
