Withdrawing Land from the Operation of the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-
seventh day of April, 1914.

Present :

THE HONOURABLE W. H. HERRIES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section forty-six of the Land Laws Amend-
ment Act, 1913, it is enacted that the Governor, by
Order in Council gazetted, may, on the recommendation of
the Land Board, declare that any land comprised in a kauri-
gum reserve shall, from a date to be specified in the Order,
cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908,
and on and after the date so specified the land to which
the Order relates shall become subject to the provisions of
the Land Act, 1908 :

And whereas the Land Board of the Auckland Land Dis-
trict has duly passed a resolution recommending that the
portion of Te Mata Kauri-gum Reserve Extension described
in the Schedule hereto be excepted from the operations of the
Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and it is expedient to give
effect to such recommendation :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority con-
ferred upon me by section forty-six of the Land Laws Amend-
ment Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and con-
sent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby
order and declare that the portion of Te Mata Kauri-gum
Reserve Extension described in the Schedule hereto shall,
from the seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred
and fourteen, cease to be a subject to the Kauri-gum Industry
Act, 1908.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District situated in
Blocks X and XIV, Hukerenui Survey District, Whangarei
County, containing 200 acres, more or less, and being portion
of Te Mata Kauri-gum Reserve Extension, set apart by
Order in Council dated 10th July, 1899, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette No. 60, of 13th July, 1899. Bounded
towards the north by Sections 24, 25, and 26 of Block X,
Hukerenui Survey District ; towards the east generally by
Sections 27 and 29 of Block X aforesaid and by a public
road ; towards the south-west by Te Mata Kauri-gum Reserve
Extension ; and towards the west generally by a stream and
by the aforesaid kauri-gum reserve : as the same is delineated
on the plan marked L. and S. 1912/675A, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon edged red.

Land temporarily reserved for a Public Cemetery in Block X, Puniu Survey District, Auckland Land District.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first
section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that
the Governor may from time to time, either by general or
particular description, and whether the same has been
surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwith-
standing that the same may be then held under pastoral
license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required
for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily
reserve from sale the land in the Auckland Land District
described in the Schedule hereunder written, for a public
cemetery.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 2 acres and 20 perches, more or less, being

Section 3, Block X, Puniu Survey District. Bounded by a
line commencing at the northernmost corner of Tokanui C
No. 3 Block ; thence along the north-eastern boundary of
that block, bearing 115° 45′, distance 419·6 links ; thence
bearing 13° 54′, distance 604·9 links ; thence bearing 288° 53′,
distance 320·1 links ; and thence along a right line, distance
554·2 links, to the northernmost corner of Tokanui C No. 3
Block, the place of commencement : be all the aforesaid
bearings and linkages more or less : as the same is delineated
on the plan marked L. and S. 1723/14, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Welling-
ton, and thereon coloured red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and fourteen.

Opening National Endowment Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur
William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor
of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that
the national endowment lands described in the Schedule
hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on
Monday, the twenty-seventh day of July, one thousand nine
hundred and fourteen, at the rentals mentioned in the
said Schedule ; and I do also declare that the said lands
shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the
said Act.

Altitude, 150 ft. to 800 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to
broken land, covered with heavy mixed forest comprising
rimu, rata, totara, kauri, kahikatea, pukatea, taraire, mahoe,
towai, miro, matai, &c., with dense undergrowth of nikau,
supplejack, toetoe, kauri-grass, and small shrubs and ferns.
Soil of good quality, on sandstone formation ; well watered
by Humanga and small streams. Distant about seven miles
from Broadwood, of which six miles and a half is by Wha-
gape—Broadwood formed road, balance as yet unformed ; or
seven miles from Herekino, of which four miles and a half is
by Herekino—Broadwood main road, balance by road up
Humanga Valley unformed at present.

Altitude, 150 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level. Undulating
land, except small portions on tops of spurs ; covered with
heavy mixed forest comprising rimu, rata, kahikatea, puka-
tea, towai, totara, kauri, taraire, mahoe, &c., with dense
undergrowth of toetoe, kauri-grass, small shrubs, ferns, nikau,
and supplejack. Indifferently watered by small streams.
Distant six miles and three-quarters from Herekino, four
miles and a half of which is by main road, remainder un-
formed road up Humanga Valley ; or eight miles from Broad-
wood—six miles and a half by Broadwood—Whangape Road,
balance unformed.

Altitude, 150 ft. to 450 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to
broken land, covered with heavy mixed forest comprising rimu,
rata, kahikatea, taraire, towai, totara, miro, pukatea, mahoe,
&c., with heavy undergrowth of nikau, supplejack, and small
shrubs and ferns. Soil of very good quality, on sandstone
formation ; fairly watered by Humanga Stream. Distant
about seven miles from Broadwood by main Broadwood—
Whangape Road to within 25 chains of section, thence by
Humanga Valley Road, unformed.

fairly level land, covered with heavy mixed forest comprising
rimu, rata, miro, totara, taraire, and a few kauri-trees, with

shrubs. Soil of good quality, on sandstone formation ; fairly
well watered by Awaroa River and small streams. Distant
