Vesting a Cemetery Reserve in the Wairoa Borough Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of April, 1914.

Present :

THE HONOURABLE W. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart for cemetery purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Wairoa :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the fourth section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Wairoa, in trust, for cemetery purposes.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 9 acres and 32 perches, more or less, being Suburban Section 54, Town of Clyde, Borough of Wairoa. Bounded towards the north-west by a public road for a distance of 700 links; towards the north-east by Suburban Sections 33 and 34 for a distance of 1350 links; towards the south-east by Suburban Section 55 for a distance of 700 links; and towards the south-west by Suburban Section 54A for a distance of 1280 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1512/31, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Opening Settlement Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and amendments, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-second day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

Altitude, about 780 ft. above sea-level. Level to undulating land, covered with manuka scrub and tussock. Soil light loam; no water on sections. Situated four miles and a half from Putaruru Railway-station, and half a mile from post and telephone office and school. The Taupo Totara Timber Company’s train passes the sections twice daily.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

Altitude, 150 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to hilly land, 45 acres grass, balance fern and manuka. Soil of light loamy nature, of medium quality; well watered by never-failing stream. Distant four miles from Putaruru and five miles from Tirau by good formed road in each case.

Situated about 50 chains along Ngaro Road from its junction with Ross Road, and about three miles from Tariki Railway-station, butter-factory, and public school. About 80 acres are flat, balance undulating, mostly ploughable, nearly all good land. Tufaceous soil, on volcanic formation.
