Applications invited for the Position of Clerk to the Native Land Purchase Board (and Correspondence Clerk), Native Department, Wellington.

  1. APPLICATIONS, to be made on forms obtainable from this office, will be received up till noon on the 25th April, 1914, from officers of the Public Service, for the position of Clerk to the Native Land Purchase Board (and Correspondence Clerk), Native Department, Wellington.

  2. Applications must be forwarded through the head of the Department, addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and must embrace a statement of education and experience, particulars of age, &c.

  3. Preference will be given to a solicitor with a knowledge of Native Land Laws.

  4. The position will be graded in Class D, Professional Division. Salary to commence, £310.

Conscience-money received.

THE Minister of Finance directs me to acknowledge the receipt of bank-notes to the value of one hundred and seven pounds (£107), forwarded to the Receiver-General by some person unknown as conscience-money to the New Zealand Government.

Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1911. — Application for Restoration of Lapsed Patent under Section 22.

NOTICE is hereby given that Alfred Launcelot James Tait, of Crawford Street, Dunedin, New Zealand, has made application for the restoration of the patent granted to him for an invention for “A method or process of and improved apparatus for treating and dressing flax and other fibres,” numbered 18601, and bearing date the 17th October, 1904, which expired on the 17th October, 1908, owing to the non-payment of the prescribed renewal fee.

Any person may, on or before the 9th June, 1914, give notice at the Patent Office of opposition to the restoration.

Such notice must be in duplicate, in the prescribed form, set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be accompanied by a stamp for the fee of 10s.

Public Service Stores Tender Board.—Supply and Delivery of Stores.

Wellington, 30th March, 1914.

SEPARATE tenders will be received at the office of the Chairman (Government Printing Office) not later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, the 19th May, 1914, for the supply and delivery, C.I.F. and E., main ports, New Zealand, of the undermentioned material :—

100,000 bolts, insulator, post-office.

15,000 bolts, galvanized, swan-neck, with leather washers.

15,000 cups, 3½ x 2¼, to fit on bolts as above.

100,000 cups, insulator, post-office.

100,000 cups, insulator, Sinclair.

4,000,000 seals, lead, ⅝ in., disc.

30,000 yards wire, jumper, twisted, one red one white.

3 tons wire, copper, annealed, binding, 50 lb. per mile.

25 miles wire, twisted pair, 1/22, vulcanized india-rubber, insulated and taped for pot-head work.

Tenders must be addressed to the Chairman, Public Service Stores Tender Board, Wellington. Delivery of the material is to be made as shown on the conditions of tender, and successful tenderers must give the security required by the conditions for the due performance of the contract. Particulars and conditions of tendering and specifications may be obtained at the office of the Controller of Stores, Post and Telegraph Department, Wellington; the District Storekeeper, Post and Telegraph Department, Christchurch; or the Telegraph Engineers at Auckland and Dunedin; where samples may be seen.

The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

Public Service Stores Tender Board.—Supply and Planting of Marram-grass at Waikato Heads.

Wellington, 31st March, 1914.

TENDERS, addressed to the Chairman, Public Service Stores Tender Board, Wellington, will be received up till 5 p.m. on Wednesday, the 15th April, 1914, for the supply and planting of marram-grass, as specified, on 48 acres of sand-dunes at Waikato Heads. Plans and specifications may be seen at the Post-office, Waiuku, or may be obtained on application to the Under-Secretary for Lands, Wellington. A deposit of £25 must accompany each tender.

The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

Public Service Stores Tender Board.—Supply and Delivery of Grass-seed.

Wellington, 31st March, 1914.

TENDERS are invited for the supply and delivery of 12,000 lb. of mixed grass-seed for Hauraki Plains. Tenders, addressed to the undersigned, marked on the covering envelope “Tender for Grass-seed, Hauraki Plains,” will be received up till 5 p.m. on Wednesday, the 15th April, 1914, at the office of the Public Service Stores Tender Board, Wellington. Specifications and conditions of tender may be obtained at the offices of the Lands and Survey Department at Auckland, Hamilton, and Thames. A deposit of £5 must accompany each tender.

The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

Wellington, 30th March, 1914.

TENDERS are invited for the supply and delivery of forage during the twelve months commencing the 1st day of April, 1914. Tenders, addressed to the undersigned, marked on the covering envelope “Tender for Forage,” will be received up till 5 p.m. on Wednesday, the 15th April, 1914, at the offices of the Public Service Stores Tender Board, Wellington. Copies of conditions of supply, with forms of tender, may be obtained at the offices of the Lands and Survey Department at Auckland and Hamilton, and the post-office, Rotorua. A deposit of £10 must accompany each tender.

The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
