the land to which the Order relates shall become subject to
the provisions of the Land Act, 1908:
And whereas the Land Board of the Auckland Land
District has duly passed a resolution recommending that
the Hukerenui Kauri-gum reserve and the portion of the
Hukerenui Kauri-gum Reserve Extension described in the
Schedule hereto be excepted from the operations of the
Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and it is expedient to give
effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred upon me by section forty-six of the Land Laws
Amendment Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
do hereby order and declare that the Hukerenui Kauri-gum
Reserve and the portion of the Hukerenui Kauri-gum
Reserve Extension described in the Schedule hereto shall,
from the second day of April, one thousand nine hundred
and fourteen, cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum Industry
Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing
800 acres, more or less, situated in Block XII, Motatau
Survey District, Bay of Islands County, being Hukerenui
Kauri-gum Reserve, set apart by Order in Council dated
20th December, 1898, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 93, of 21st December, 1898. Bounded towards the
north by northern boundary-line of Block XII, Motatau
Survey District; towards the east by Sections 15 and 16,
Block IX, Hukerenui Survey District; towards the south
generally by a public road and a stream; towards the south-
west by Sections 50 and 38 of Block XII, Motatau Survey
District; and towards the north-west and again towards
the south-west by Section 5, Block XII aforesaid.
Also all that area in the Auckland Land District, contain-
ing 1,345 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks VIII and
XII, Motatau Survey District, and Block V, Hukerenui
Survey District, Bay of Islands County, being part of Hukere-
nui Kauri-gum Reserve Extension, set apart by Order in
Council dated 12th April, 1899, and published in the New
Zealand Gazette No. 32, of 13th April, 1899. Bounded to-
wards the north-west by Sections 18 and 17, Block VIII,
Motatau Survey District; towards the east by a right line
due south; towards the north by a right line due east; again
towards the east by Sections 22, 21, 20, and 19, Block VIII
aforesaid; again towards the north by Section 19 aforesaid,
the abutment of a road, and Section 30, Block VIII aforesaid;
towards the west by Section 30 aforesaid and Sections 29 and
28 of Block VIII aforesaid; again towards the north by
Section 88, Block V, Hukerenui Survey District; again
towards the east generally by a public road, by Section 85,
Block V aforesaid; and again by a public road and by
Section 76 of the aforesaid block; towards the south by the
northern boundary-line of Block XII, Motatau Survey Dis-
trict; towards the north-east and south-east by the boun-
dary-lines of Section 5, Block XII aforesaid; and towards
the south-west by the abutment of a public road, and by
Sections 32 and 29, Block VIII, Motatau Survey District.
As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and S.
5346/4, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands
and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Ohura Survey District,
Taranaki Land District.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
has been duly set apart as a reserve for a pumice
quarry, being a reserve within Class I of the Second Schedule
of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and such
land has not been vested in trust in any society, body cor-
porate, or trustees:
And whereas it is expedient that such land shall be appro-
priated for a site for a public school, being a reserve within
Class III of the aforesaid Act:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me
by the eleventh section of the Public Reserves and Domains
Act, 1908, do by this notification declare that the said land
shall, from and after the second day of April, one thou-
sand nine hundred and fourteen, be appropriated for a site
for a public school under Class III of the Public Reserves
and Domains Act, 1908; and I do hereby direct that this
notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by
admeasurement 7 acres, more or less, being Section 8, Block
XVI, Ohura Survey District. Bounded towards the north,
east, and north-east generally by the Whakamaro Stream,
3200 links, to the Kururau Road; towards the south-west,
west, and north-west generally by the Kururau Road, 2007·6
links, and the Otunui Road, 938·2 links, to the Whakamaro
Stream: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the
same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 5457/19,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine
hundred and fourteen.

Opening Lands in Hawke's Bay Land District for Sale or
Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur
William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of
the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of
the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one
hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be
open for sale or selection on Thursday, the eleventh day of
June, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen; and
also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at
the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be
selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renew-
able lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the
said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in
the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land
snall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the
provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

The land is situated some two miles and a half by formed
dray-road from Weber Township, and twenty-seven miles
from Dannevirk, and has a frontage on to the Akiteo Stream.
With the exception of some 10 acres of grassed country in
the south-eastern corner, the section comprises undulating
and broken country, with mixed bush in the gullies and scrub
on the hilltops and ridges. The bush contains birch, white-
pine, matai, and totara of poor quality. The section is well
watered. Elevation varies from 650 ft. to 950 ft. above sea-
level. The soil is fair to medium, resting on a clay and papa
formation.

this twenty-seventh day of March, one thousand
nine hundred and fourteen.
