Special Order made by the Mangere Road Board.

THE following special order, made by the Mangere Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Road Board Act, 1908.

MANGERE ROAD BOARD.
RESOLVED at a meeting of the Mangere Road Board held at the office of the said Board, Mangere, on the 9th day of February, 1914, that the resolution passed by the said Board at a special meeting held on the 9th day of January, 1914, of which the following is a copy:
“In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Public Works Amendment Act, 1913, and all other powers thereunto enabling, the Mangere Road Board doth hereby resolve to raise a loan of £15,000 for the purpose of constructing a bridge over the Manukau Harbour, together with the approaches thereto, between the Onehunga Borough and the Mangere Road District, known as the New Mangere Bridge; as the said bridge and approaches are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. Number 33416, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, in the Wellington Provincial District; such sum of £15,000 being the amount necessary to enable the Mangere Road Board to comply with the Governor’s Warrant dated the 26th day of June, 1913, and the Governor’s Warrant dated the 22nd day of December, 1913, without taking any poll of the ratepayers thereon. And in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the said Acts and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Mangere Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the said loan of £15,000, authorized to be raised by the said Board under above-mentioned Acts as aforesaid, for the purpose of the erection of the said bridge as is hereinbefore set out, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny (½d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Mangere Road District, comprising the whole of the said land within the boundaries of the said Road Board as described in an Order in Council dated the 17th day of August, 1896, published in the New Zealand Government Gazette for 1896, at page 1311; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
And the same is hereby confirmed by way of special order.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made in accordance with the requirements of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

Notice respecting Proposed Town District, Rakaia, County of Ashburton.

Wellington, 26th February, 1914.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a town district under the said Act, by name the Town District of Rakaia. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the constitution of the said town district which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF PROPOSED TOWN DISTRICT OF RAKAIA.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line along the south-western side of Plantation Road from Baker’s Road to the West Belt; thence across the West Belt and along its eastern side to the Rakaia River Terrace;
