That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £300, authorized to be raised by the consent of the ratepayers of the Rata Maire Special-rating District, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of trimming, forming, and metalling the unmetalled portions of the Rata Maire Road from its junction with the Ohakune-Karioi Road to the western boundary of Section 23, Block V, Karioi S.D., the said Waimarino County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one-eighth of a penny (1⅛d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Rata Maire Special-rating District, comprising all the properties situated within the following boundaries: Commencing at a point where the west boundary of Section 21, Block V, Karioi S.D., joins the Ohakune-Karioi Road; thence generally south by the west boundary of the said Section 21, Block V, Karioi S.D., to the south side of the Rata Maire Road; thence generally west by the said Rata Maire Road to the western boundary of Section 23, Block V, Karioi S.D.; thence south and south-east by the west and south-west boundaries of the said Section 23, Block V, Karioi S.D., to the west boundary of Section 24, Block V, Karioi S.D.; thence generally east by the south boundaries of Sections 24, 25, and 26 Block V, Karioi S.D., to the Ohakune-Karioi Road; thence generally north-east by the said Ohakune-Karioi Road to the starting-point, comprising Sections 14, 21, 23, 24, 25, and 26, all in Block V, Karioi S.D.
And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off; the interest and repayment of principal on such loan being together at the rate of £5 12s. 2d. per centum per annum. It is proposed to pay out of the loan-moneys the first year's instalment of principal and interest and the cost of raising the loan.

MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE FOR LOAN OF £1,500 FOR HOSPITAL PURPOSES.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Manawatu County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on the loan of £1,500, authorized to be raised by the said Council, under the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, for the following purpose—for contributing to the cost of the extension of the Palmerston North Hospital and Old People’s Home—the said Manawatu County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/90th of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Manawatu County, payable half-yearly on the first day of January and July until the said loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Manawatu County Council held on 12th January, 1914, and was confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on 9th February, 1914.
