Conditions of the Issue of Licenses under the Race Meetings Act, 1909.
WHEREAS by the Race Meetings Act, 1909, it is provided that any racing club may make application to the Minister of Internal Affairs for a license under that Act to conduct horse-races: And whereas the said Minister may in his discretion grant any such license, subject to such conditions as he thinks fit with respect to the number, character, times, and places of the horse-races which may take place under the authority of the license, and as to the management and control of those races: And whereas it is expedient to publish the following conditions, which shall apply to all licenses granted under the authority of the said Act, in addition to any other conditions which the said Minister may in any particular case impose upon the issue of any license as aforesaid:
Now, therefore, I, Francis Henry Dillon Bell, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, hereby give notice that all licenses granted under the Race Meetings Act, 1909, will be granted under and subject to the following conditions:—

Every application for a license under the said Act shall be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, and shall be in the form No. 1 in the Schedule hereto, or to the like effect; such application to be made at least one month before the date of the proposed race meeting.

Before granting any such application the Minister of Internal Affairs will refer the application to a Commissioner of Police for report.

After the receipt of the police report the Minister of Internal Affairs will consider the application.

Licenses will be in the form No. 2 in the Schedule hereto, or to the like effect.

A condition will always be imposed that not more than eight races per diem shall be run at any race meeting.

Where only one race meeting is authorized to be held in any racing year, that race meeting may be authorized by the license to extend over two days; but in all other cases the license will only authorize one day’s racing.
